Park the car on an incline, if you do not have an incline around your garage, you could jack up the front end, leave the radiator cap open, and let it run until it runs hot, and thermostat opens, keep filling as neccessary. Also the radiator should have a bleeding valve on the top right corner, loos...

Re: the new guy

Hello, Ryan. This is Pye (Subaru_for_Life). Welcome to the board. All Subarus leak oil with age, but if it drives fine, then $300 is a good deal. I'm assuming it's a FWD, L model. I have one of those. Unfortunately, I'm in Ft. Lauderdale. It's about an hour, and a half east bound from you. Subaru_fo...

I've read somewhere on here, that the NA heads flow better than the turbo heads. Aside from that, I don't see, why it wouldn't work. I don't think, it's going to affect the compression ratio, as it's mostly in the pistons.

My 4EAT on my '93 L FWD has over 200k miles on it, and still going strong. That aside, you might want to change the rear main seal on the motor as well.

Good luck,

It's the earlier head gaskets for the EJ25. I think the updated head gaskets from '03 and up, solved that problem. My 4EAT has over 200k, and it's still going strong. All I did was changing the ATF regularly, and drove normally. Be nice to 4EAT, and it will be nice to you as well  Subaru_for_Li...

Hi, mine has that too, well at least one, that I know of  I guess, it must be a vent or something. I've already put over 220k miles on it, and it's still going strong.

That's how I found my way to the Subarus. I was researching for a suitable alternative powerplant for an experimental airplane.

Check this one out, EJ22 all the way to STi.

Not an expert, either. But it sounds like electrical problem. I'd start with the battery, alternator, coolant temp sensor, and most importantly proper grounding.

Good luck,

Wiseco, JE, and Race Engineering will make you custom pistons at whatever ratios, you need. As for the internal parts, I'd go with genuine Subaru parts. Contact Jamie.

A friend of mine has one off of a '93 Legacy FWD. It has a little over 80k. He's in Kansas City, Missouri.

If you're interested let me know and I'll give you his email addy.

Hey elaff, I'm in the truck rental business, and no, they're not trying to pitch you to spend more money on a car carrier. I've seen first hand, many dissapointed customers, whose rear wheel drive vehicles on tow dollies, refusing to drive due to busted trannys. They refused to drop the drive shaft ...

Re: NEWB needs some advice!!!!

... i noticed the crank pully was kinda wiggly and sqeekie... is that pretty bad or what is the cause and fix? If it's wiggly and squeeking at the same time, it could just be that the two piece crank pulley might be separating. Tightening it more will not help, you'd have to replace the pulley. The...
