*** FIXED *** It was blocked coolant lines I believe. I drained the coolant today and you wouldnt believe the amount of rust and crap that came out of the radiator! http://bbs.legacycentral.org/viewtopic.php?p=179411#179411 The heater trucks along quite happily now. Weee, It's fixed! Well at least I hope it is. When I drained all the fluids I left the coolant, as I was a little worried about doing the whole process for the first time. Today I flushed the whole system. I pulled out the radiator drain plug and nothing came out! The plug itself was covered in bro...

OMG, ok now it's overheating! I went for a normal dirve around town today and by the time I'd got home the thermo was all the way up the top and when I cut the engine a horrible hissing noise was coming from the silver coolant reservoir. I popped the hood to figure out where it was coming from. Als...

Ok, the fluids seem to be free of metal particles. I'll see if I can explain the noise a bit better... It sounds the WORST : - When the car first turns over, just after I let go of the key. - Just as I put my put on the accelerator, that first little bit of gas is when that gruesom shuddering/rattli...

Under the intercooler

Found them, all of them seem to be clear.

I'll check the rattling screwdriver trick tomorrow, when I can bring the car inside. I'll try emptying the fluids too. Although it does seem to be quieter now.

Would you recommend I take it to a mechanio to check over?

I couldn't find it. Admittedly I was looking at the middle of the night with a flashlight, but I did spot a small red cap, close to the firewall and next to my AWIC. I didn't want to open it as I wasn't sure. I sort of comes off a small metal tube, it doesnt look all that deep, so I could be looking...

Thanks, that clears things up somewhat.

Let me just get this straight. If I wanted to run 4 x Kenwood 38W speakers, to get the most out of them, I would need an amp? Otherwise they would sound pretty crap?

A Few Car Audio Questions

Hey All I have a few questions about car audio: - I have a Sony CDX-GT150 Headunit. It states a S-mosfet power of 52W x 4. Which would mean a max setup of 4 x 52W Speakers, correct? Does this mean I can't run 55W speakers or greater for that matter? - I would idealy like to run 4 x 3-way speakers, a...

I'm in New Zealand.

As for what engine it is, I have no idea! I'd be happy to tell you, if I knew how to find out.

Sorry for all the dumb questions, but if that silver tank only takes a small amount of water, where would I pour the new coolant/water mix for when I do a full flush and replace?

The Silver tank that has the radiator cap on it leads to the bottom of the overflow tank. You cant see it actually connected in the pic, because of the wiring, but its does connect up to it. Just checked it now (car is cold) the small tank/tube is practically empty and the larger silver one is from ...
