No, I'm talking about the little pad finger shims not the pad backing shims

I figured as much but with the pad sooo tight on the fingers with that shim I think I'll pull it.

The little stainless steel brake pad spring holder on my Leg

Fits between the caliper and the pads, what the heck is it for and is it needed? I've been through so many sets of rotors, pads & calipers that I can't believe it. Now this time one of the pads was seized up in and couldn't move as a result of this thing, needless to say I'm about ready to throu...

I pulled a solenoid out of a rear end wrecked autoawd and bought it and the pull out clutch pack, a drivers side window switch and the TCM or control mod for the tranny for $40 dollars and put it all, the TCM didn't work but everything else did, best 40 dollars spent just about ever, no more binding...

Yep, mine is also doing this. I followed the leak along the drivers side oil pan lip all the way to the water pump. Amazing that this is the only place I saw that people have seen the same type of leak (right over the cross member leaking in the center) and only seem to post about it on Legacycentra...

It's my understanding that 60% of the earliest-released SRT4's blew their headgasket.

That's worse than Subaru.
Well I'd say your information is wrong

It's really the best part of the car... My biggest wish for the engine was for it to find a home in the dodge razor.

No offense, but I will never be jealous of an SRT-4. I didn't say you were but a lot of people are put off by the fact that it really is one hell of a bang for your buck. On top of that the engine is extremely responsive to relatively cheap mods. That combination is more than enough for people to h...

Well it just goes to show that there is a lot of jealousy on the net... While my srt-4 is not the fastest it is a daily driver made in America. If I want fast I'll take out mid engine corvair with the 383 stroker in the back seat and porsche transaxle holding everything in check in the rear... It mi...

Didn't even know they made a gasket for the 4eat, mine had some type of special sealant on it, I cleaned it all of and added a high temp gasket maker. Seals great.

I had the same problem in my wifes outback, the fuse would not do anything and it was in constant 4x4. Ended up pulling the clutch pack and duty C and TCU out of a bone yard subaru w/ about 95K on it or so and paid $42, swapped them out (all except the TCU) and everything works great.

What part sheered off? Since that's the transmission, if you don't want ot dig into it I'd suggest just getting another one from a bone yard. How does the clutch pack look & what was the ohm reading on the Duty C?

2 weeks living w/ ported & polished heads & intake V

Well while it was a lot of work it has been well worth it IMHO. I still can't believe how much extra metal is around the intake ports on the heads and the intake manifold. Took pretty much a whole day but the response after 3kRPM seems much better and well worth the cutting tools (about $20 for atta...

Yes, no air in the cooling system, I changed the Rad 2 years ago and went through the same thing. Burped for 2 days and tested. 100% Water pump changed Still tested and when the RPM's raise past 2.5-3.5k the thing starts overheating (IMHO presurizing the coolant passages) pretty bad. Also when ever ...
