Speaking of random connectors, what is the purpose of the one that is located along the headlight harness on the passenger side right behind the headlight assembly? It is a simple spade connector of a sizeable nature. Plugging/unplugging makes no difference to vehicle operation.

well, in that case i suggest u get the new updated rear housing, come with solenoid clutch everything and updated design to hit torque bind, from wear and tear, not from uneven tires. See how much a dealer will quote u for all the parts. Yeah, I'll do that. I didn't realize there was an updated rea...

Well, if your budget isn't to tight, then i would get a rebuild done by a dealer, i can NOT recommend a transmission shop, as they i have NO trust at all in ANY transmission shop ever! I think my dealer told me about $3000CDN for a FULL rebuild. Just wondering though, are there any issues with your...

Good source for auto trans rebuild kit

I am thinking about doing a major overhaul of the Scoob to keep it going strong for another 200,000mi (I just rounded 180,000 this week!). Part of the plan is a complete transmission rebuild along with a slew of other very costly and hardly practical ideas. Any suggestions on where to get my rebuild...

Even if it was the diode packs or bushes those are integral with the alternator, and I don't think Subaru alternators can be rebuilt. I may be wrong, but either way a new or reman one would be less trouble, especially if you spring for one with a lifetime warranty or something like that.

Review: Bridgestone Blizzak WS-50s

Hey all, I just wanted to relay a recent experience with a new set of Blizzak WS-50 tires that I mounted a couple of weeks ago. I live in Fort Collins, and as some of you in CO know we got nailed. I was running some relateively new Dunlop Sport SP2 tires, 195/70r14, which do ok in the dry and wet, b...

So the Cobb header will in fact work with the ej22?

Also, that transmission doesn't look like it was the one from the factory. Is it only the older 4eat that has a slightly offset front diff in the transmission?

Are you 100 percent sure its not your tires? i remember a LONG time ago, my legacy had the same noise, because glass cut into the tire. Hmmm, I wonder. As a matter of fact it hasn't made the noise the last few days. I wonder if whatever it was worked itself out (or in! ) Thanks for your tho...

It seems entirely dependent on vehicle speed. If I downshift to third it has no impact on the noise.

Interesting noise from front end, driver's side.

Hi guys, I am a mechanic myself, formerly for Nissan currently for Honda/GM. I own a 94 legacy wagon, non-turbo. I can hear, at speeds between around 40 to 45mph a "chiff-chiff-chiff-chiff" noise continuously. I cannot duplicate the noise on a lift by merely running the wheels up to speed,...

Sounds like the cooling system still has some air in it, specifically the heater core. Crack your radiator cap when it is *cold* and check the level. Add as needed, also bring the level up slightly in your reservoir. Then run it up to normal temps and hold it there for a few, and shut it off and let...

Question about information in Compendium.

Hi, I'm new here although I have lurked UltimateSubaru for a while. I own a 94 Legacy L wagon and am trying to figure out which rear sway bar to choose for an impending installation. This car has only the front sway bar, and I would imagine at least a 18mm would be nice, although a 20mm seems more t...
