Re: WTB running legacy turbo wagon
Dave kicked me about this thread. I've been meaning to sell my 1993 silver turbo legacy wagon for some time now. It mostly just sits in front of my house in San Francisco which is why I'm selling it. I would say it's in good mechanical condition but the body has seen it's fair share of parking lot b...

i am having the same problem. i have a 93T wagon. I was also theorizing it was the ignition switch. So I went on verification hunt. The manual says that when ignition switch is in starter position the terminals from the ignition switch should be doing the following: B63- this one is pretty easy to g...

After doing a whole lot of google/i-club/nasioc/legacycentral surfing I've come up with the following information. http://www.threebond.co.jp/en/product/number/index.html 1100 series is liquid gaskets 1200 series is Silicone-based liquid gaskets and potting agents Here is what people have said they ...

three bond 1105/1215 equivalent?
hey all, i'm trying to fix some pesky oil leaks and i'm reading the subaru manual and it calls for "fluid packing: three-bond 1105 & 1215" for the service hole plug and cover oil separator. I attemped to find it at my local kragen, but all they carry is permatex. I'm curious if anyone ...

trannies and their notchiness
yeah the tranny came from a 1992 legacy turbo sedan. It took me a while to get used to be a little bit off to the right and up for 3rd. Bouncing between my mr2, justy and the legacy they all have their uniqueness. I drove Dave's swap legacy as well. From what I remember he had the short shifter kit ...

Mine has zero notchiness in all gears. Downshifting to first can be a little effort though. One other thing to note I noticed is 3rd is not directly up from neutral but I also did an auto->manual tranny swap so i've always attributed it to that. ...I'm kind of surprised that tranny mounts would solv...

the real answer!
wow i'm disappointed that no one had a single theory... well all of them would have been wrong!!! it turned out to be my roof rack. I still haven't pin pointed the exact source on the roof rack itself, but damn was it annoying and ridiculously loud. It took me a while before I (actually my girlfrien...

auto to manual swap
It wasn't too painful. In the end I think I only spent about $1000 for the conversion, and that includes selling the auto tranny. I did the labor. It's hard to say how much time I spent on it, since I was also rebuilding the motor at the same time. Some rough numbers on cost for me are: transmission...

whine theories
ok i want some theories... I have had this whine coming from the rear of my car for some time now. It only happens when I'm traveling between 55-75mph. I thought it was either the rear differential, drive shaft, or something bearing related(half shaft?). Just the perfect pitch for some sort of reson...

smoke and turbo
It may not be as simple as this but on my car I know it leaks from the silly little rubber hose from the turbo's drain pipe back into the head. It really should have good clamps around it. It's really hard to get to though so I've let it be. But it does seem to send oil everywhere and often lands on...
