Need an alternator for a 93 Legacy SS ASAP!

I got a 93 Legacy SS and Im wondering if I can use an alternator from other legacy/impreza models.

Seems like the car was overheating because there was air in the system. After getting all the air out and adding about 1.5L of coolant, seems good now.

Alright so i was looking around the maf sensor and noticed one of the vacuum hoses disconnected. So I plug it back in. In the meantime I had the negative battery cable disconnected so that it would reset the ecu. I connect the battery and start the car.

No more ENGINE LIGHT! And the car does not ...

What was the issue when timing was off?

Should I try cleaning it?

Yup its a silver aluminum one. Made by Hitachi.

Yeah I triple checked the timing marks. I used the notches everywhere, NOT the arrows. The car starts up and idles with no problems at all. If the timing was off, wouldnt it idle like crap?

Ill try cleaning the MAF sensor and see what it does.

I've read that cars w/a bad temp sensor usually have a hard time starting once it is warm. I do not have this problem. It starts right back up once it stalls.

The fuel filter has not been replaced for about 70K miles. Would a dirty fuel filter cause the car to stall under load?

I do have a brand new hiflow walbro pump in there.

You guys experience this stalling problem?

Ok basically the car has been sitting for about two months. It was not starting, so I thought it was the timing belt. I go ahead and replace:

- timing belt,
- crank sprocket
- crank seal
- key
- crank pulley
- water pump
- thermostat
- both rad hoses

The car still doesnt start. So I check out the ...

However when doing the timing belt, I broke one of the nipples on the coolant reservoir. Fuck that thing is brittle

Will a fuel pump from a 02 WRX work in a 93 Legacy SS?

Actually I ended up buying one from the dealership. It came out to ~ $35

M14 x 1.5 is too big! I just measured the threads of the crank bolt and it came out to 12.8mm.

I cant figure this out. It is not an M12 bolt, cause then it would be 12mm instead of 12.8. And an M14 is too big!

An M14 tap doesnt even slide into the crank opening.
