In the tuning guide it just kinda tells you about how everything comes together. How each adjustment effects the other and how it changes the fuel delivery overall. Its kinda hard to explain what it says because the one i read was a translated Japanese version so it was pretty garbled. The 50-100% t...

All GM, Toyota, and Mazda maps you've looked at are 3 dimensional? Can you show me where I can read more about this? It seems like it would be hell to tune. Just read a Apexi SAFC II tuning guide. Im sure you could do a search for it on google or yahoo and find it. It is extremely difficult to tune...

See, Redline, the problem I have with the way you flame is that it seems to carry an arrogance -- you make the assumption that what you say is gospel and that others are completely wrong. I'm not saying you actually believe that; it's just how it comes out to the rest of us. You recognize that you'...

Redline: http://www.cockyracingguy.com/pictures/Funny%20Stuff/netfight.jpg Anwyay.. before you start yipping at me, you assume to know alot about the guy who you so eagerly started ripping into... you don't, so calm down. As for the valve, I know my engine is going down anyway, so I thought I'd try...

Guys, seriously, knock off the ad hominem arguments and personal attacks. The writer's experience in somewhat-related work is only one of many axes along which a post's value can be judged. Perhaps we need a clearer explanation of how the TurboSmart valve works. Is it still diaphragm-based, opening...

ok. you guys are wrong (except Inzomniac) your about to wish you never said that. I guess you can call me Inzomniac's Personal Mechanic about now, after numerous suspension installs, clutch install, crank pulley install, and just about everything else on his car. including his BOV. Want a cookie? C...
sounds like one off a mitsushitty, a TD05 WILL be a direct bolt up if it is off a WRX, but if you are going down this path you can get a VF12 off a aussie spec RS the turbo itself flows stuff all less than a TD05, however the TD05 is easier to high flow/modify  This turbo came from a 1st g...

hold up now i never said they wouldnt work, i just said that they werent really designed for a larger displacement engine. You can swap out comperssor wheels to fit it to your engine but its costly, timely, and takes some skill and i never automaticaly assume that people know how to rebuild turbos. ...

i wasnt refering to the construction half ass... its rather creative actuly. What i meant was that if it were me, i would have done the whole intake and not just one piece of it. In my grandpa's eyes, doing only part of the job is halfass but he was a stubborn bastard so ya know  But i think wh...
i would do everything he said except lower the compression, swap to a T61 turbo and run higher boost. The reason so is this... most turbo cars that are FWD or RWD will keep fairly good compression just so they dont lose what little edge they have getting them up off the line, but with an AWD car thi...

notice the ripples on the curves? This is a very carefuly crush bent pipe... what he/shes doing is puting the pipe in a bender, bending it very slightly, moving it , bending it again, and keeps doing this untill the pipe is bent the way they want it. This means that the walls on the insides of those...

yea its kinda the opposite of a quartz watch. The quartz in a watch resonates at 38,864 times /second when 3V+ is applied to it. I think the exact opposite happens with the knock sensor.... the # of resonations changes and causes the voltage to rise or drop.... Thats probably the best educated guess...

Im not flamming this one im just amazed the lengths some people will go to to find a whole horsepower.... but if next week you make a flywheel out ...

I'll try morgie's check valve thing to bypass the fuel cut...I can't wait to try it at 14-15 psi!!!! I'm sure I'll kick stock WRX's asses at 15 psi!!!!............... A WRX scoop will come soon to let more air get on the intercooler!!! :D Well when you hit 15psi, it will pull pretty hard, BUT.... y...

i run 12-13-14psi daily (depends on temperature) without intercooler since one month, and before that i was 12psi since about 10 months. As far as i know, car is still running ;) But, little note : Running 14psi dont seems to increase engine HP at all compared to 12psi... probably because of intake...

Redline, Rather then just saying I'm wrong, why don't you explain it huh? I can scan a document from a course I just took that backs everything I said. But your information was semi correct. All the things you said happen, do... the things you were incorrect on were 1, the original reasoning for us...
