The idle goes UP when the clutch is released (no foot pressure, not pushed in) regardless of neutral or in gear.

5 speed car.

I am sure at this time I will be replacing or adjusting TPS. In D-mode I get the 42 code when I let off the gas while driving. As soon as I push the gas it goes away.

I have had the car since 2001 and it did not start doing this until a couple months ago. So, no wiring play withs. Although the car was parked through last winter and when I got it going again the varmints had eaten through my plug wires. Replaced the wires and all was well. I replaced the engine re...

Youre sure it isnt just cold... right?

Even if I am in gear driving down the road the car will not idle below 1500. Only when I push the clutch will the idle go down.

No, I know the car pretty well. Been with subies for a long time and come from a very motor mechanical background. If the pedal is not being touched, not pushed. Idles at 1700 regardless of the temp of the car. When I push the clutch in the idle falls to 750. But only when it gets to the last 1 inch...

High idle, but different.

1750 with the clutch out, 750 with the clutch in.

Done some vacuum sprat tests and idle went down when I sprayed the device directly below the pcv. I assume this is the air idle control. I do get 42 code also.

wrx or sti strut/springs on a 1998L ?

I know the info is in here but I would greatly appreciate any quick links to some crossover knowledge. First is kind of out of this vintage realm, but I have a 1998 legacy L wagon and it needs new struts. Seem to have wrx and sti parts on local craigslist but need to know what will fit. Equally I ha...
