I tried, albeit without trying to use too much force and no, I can't. I could plug the pressure hose directly to the wastegate and see if it is just the solenoid.

That makes sense, though it is the same style connector they use for the speakers.

Extra Speaker Wire in Trunk?

In the back of my '94 SS there is what looks like a disconnected speaker wire. It is right in the middle of the car between the two top speakers which are both plugged in. Any Ideas? Subwoofer?

Got the flywheel in the car this weekend and did a thorough check of what's needed. Still overboosting and hitting fuel cut. Will have to get the boost gauge in and diable the pressure switch. Looks like the wastegate is failing to open.

I extrapolated using tire circumference: In 1st the '94 SS has a lower overall ratio Every revolution of the engine results in 5.52167 inches of tire travel. In 1st the '05 LGT results in 5.9619 inches of travel. Second is very close: 10.0532 for SS; 10.0294 for LGT Not that it matters, but found it...

Na, I have a FMIC + alky injection on the SS. I had good luck/gains with alky on my Impreza so I'm hooked on it now. The SS & our "Welfare-Racing" 9.97s 1/4 mile drag car both have alky injection. I was considering alky, which system (brand) are you using? I was actually considering u...

However, take a look at the gear ratios from the '06 model Year: ---------------2.5i-----LGT 1ST GEAR: 3.454 3.166 2ND GEAR: 2.062 1.882 3RD GEAR: 1.448 1.296 4TH GEAR: 1.088 0.972 5TH GEAR: 0.780 0.738 The LGT has talller gears, so it is not as big of a difference as would 1st appear. In 1st the 2...

I think your 13 second goal is possible. If you have DOHC heads slap them on, they should help get you to your goal a little easier. I sort of see where some of this comes from as some SSs with upgraded turbos ran in the high 14-15sec range in the past. I have a TD04 on my full weight (heavy...) 4e...

Kool... that makes sense. I'm not trying to hijack... But can you swap a LGT tranny into a 1st gen? I mean without all the axles and rear diff but only the actual transmission? I have the data dvd on the 06 and it does say 4.111 for the LGT, I could have sworn my '05 had 3.90's, I'll have to crawl ...

I thought they were 4.11s?
You are correct:

3.272 Auto (VTD)
4.111 Manual

The Na cars were:
4.111 Auto
3.90 Manual

The Outback XT's had 4.444 with the manual.

For the record, It was a 97 or 98 base 2.2 liter with an engine swap, running a Forester auto tranny and rear end (4.44 gears) it was a 60ft beast. Though it actually ran larger diameter tires than stock. It had a TD04 and WRX TMIC with a RS hood. He used a solenoid out of a nitrous kit to dump in ...

check out the thread "ej25 SOHC heads vs ej25 DOHC" in the engine forum... there is some info on there regarding head swaps... what works... whats extra work... You could consider an ej20g head and mani swap. Thats less complicated than an ej25 head swap. I'd have to buy those, I have the...

Yeah, I don't think Nick meant to flame you. It's just that many of us have found that results didn't always match our hopes with the simple kinds of modifications you're talking about. If the car you're referring to is an automatic Impreza 2.5RS, you should remember that it was lighter, had more d...

Depending upon how long you stay around here, you will find that we are not like NASIOC or any other forums. And I dont think Nick sharing his opinion can hardly be considered flaming. Anyways... Have you considered a head swap? Its a lot more work... But if drag times are you goal that may be a so...

Can you swap the side and rear (or at least the sides) glass with acrylic/polycarbonate? That would save some decent weight. Yes, to my knowledge I can. I'd gut the power windows at the same time and leave them stationary (could always switch it back when I got back home. It will only have the driv...

I could get my hands on a VF39 if I had to, not sure the 2.2T would be able to breath that deep, but as I've said, I've seen someone start with less and get in the 13's with a TD04. I have more experience with the newer turbo's, so I came here for advise. It's not my daily driver, so I'm willing to ...

I strongly doubt you will crack the 13s with a TD04 on a stock EJ22T... I have a VF8 on my stock 2.2t and I have yet to crack the 13s...and it is a far larger turbo Does your car have a full interior? My car won't. 13's is the goal, I think I can get there, I've seen a TD04 take a automatic 2.5 NA ...

OK - ? what color it is then. If you are going to use a TD04 I'm not sure you'll NEED a FMU with the stock injectors/Walbro as it is just slightly bigger than the VF11. I'd spend an hour or so porting the turbo ext. & comp. housings before you put the TD04 on. We have a guy that comes around th...

If you have a '94 SS you have Crimson Red Pearl - I have the same year & color.... If your goal is 13's the TD04 should get you there, WRX's & Foresters are running high 12's on TD04s. You have a good point re. selling the car for $2K once the competition is over. They should @ least group ...

The car was painted by the prior owner, it may not even be a Subaru Red, it was originally silver.

The 12's would be even better, but I don't need to be there to place in the top 10 as long as I do well enough in the other two categories.
