Re: What did you do to your Subie today?
It was 95 per... Ya it is low, but Greg said I shouldnt worry about it being there with the mileage and even numbers Did you open the throttle while you were cranking? Did you have all 4 plugs out? I see a combination of three or four things making your numbers low: 1. Throttle closed 2. Other plug...

Re: What do the hoses by the iac go to
It's part of your crankcase breather/PCV system. Pretty important to keep together, so of course replace the broken tee. I wouldn't worry about the crud buildup unless it's becoming a restriction. That said, you should make sure your PCV valve is clean enough (it's the part screwed into the intake m...

It is! It's a NASA-legal cage for a street/race/show car that one of the prominent Denver Subaru shops is building. There's pics on my Facebook page, search "Slodrive Racing."

I'm in Longmont, but I'm usually at my shop just east of town, near Hwy. 66 & I-25. Drop me a line if you're in the area.

Woah just now saw this thread. Sweet work man. Since it's your business card go roll the hell out of it and then people will really come to you for a cage! If I walked into a shop and they had a gnarly balled up chassis but the occupant area was still intact that would speak to me. The color is gre...

Re: Machining flywheel for 9" WRX clutch disk. VS 8-7/8" sto
Strange. There's been a WRX clutch bolted to a (non-resurfaced) Legacy Turbo flywheel in my car for many thousands of miles as well. Even if the disc was the tiniest bit larger than the friction surface (which I don't remember being the case) the clutch should still operate normally. Do you know wha...

It's officially called the Haltech Platinum Sprint 500. You can check my build journal as well as macipusy's, he's running one too. You can also look at Haltech's site and download the software to check it out. I can make a harness just like the one I'm using so it'll plug right into your harness un...

I've seen one matching that description right there. It had a huge muffler, and I think no rear spoiler. His car wasn't nearly as fast as mine. I talked to him at a gas station once...Nice guy, but I don't think he posts here.

I can possibly hook you up with a Haltech Sprint 500 just like the one in my SS, maybe even as a "plug and play" if you want. Lemme know if you're interested.

Re: Limp Mode After Timing Belt Completed
Your CEL shouldn't be blinking at any sort of interval...unless you're running in D-Check mode. Do you know if the green and/or black check connectors under the dash are plugged in? (They shouldn't be unless you're pulling codes or clearing the ECU.) By the way...what year/model Legacy? That might h...

^^What he said. It could also be your water pump going out, sometimes they only leak when the motor's hot.
Have you gotten under your car to look for a trail of coolant?
P.S. This thread should probably be moved to the Engine forum.

Hey, look what I did on Friday night! :D http://i300.photobucket.com/albums/nn24/drivefastgto/Slodrive/726761693_photobucket_2014_.jpg 189HP and about 205TQ on a conservative 91 octane tune @ 17lbs. of boost...pretty close to what I had figured. On this dyno, that's within the range of a Stage 2 WRX...

Thanks Jason and Josh! You're far too kind, trust me. Well, so far so good. I haven't been back on the dyno yet for a re-tune, but I did a little road tuning and it's been running pretty well. I haven't been able to do any tuning for a few days due to a dead laptop battery, but I've still been...

Wait, so you also replaced the knock sensor and the injectors? Are they the OEM "pink" ones, and are the replacement ones used, new, reconditioned, or ?

Did you replace the knock sensor with a NEW one or another used one?, Also, has the "Check Engine" light come on at any time? And just wondering...why did you change the knock sensor if it ran fine before?

Re: Red top injectors in a ej20g???
Different mounts? Have you actually tried Phase 1 DOHC rails? They should bolt right on.
You know, like a mid-late 90's Outback/Forester/RS with a 2.5 DOHC.

Why don't you just get some Phase 1 DOHC fuel rails at the salvage yard? Way cheaper than the adapter kits out there.

A really low idle can easily trigger the "OIL" light, especially when the oil's hot. I wonder if your IAC valve is all gummed up.

You're gonna love it Maciek! I'll do my best to be there. I finally drove from my shop to Harvey's dyno shop yesterday and got a lot of tuning done. Haltech uses a great interface, which made tuning a pretty straightforward matter...in less than an hour, I had all my low-load and low-boost tuning pr...
