usdm wrx was only a 2.0 until 05, 06-10 wrx is a 2.5

Found the problem :o The wiring in the throttle position sensor plug was exposed in a few places and touching. Looks like someone had tried to repair it before and didn't do a very good job. Insulated them and car runs great! It was right in front of me the whole time but since it happened when I re...

Reset them by disconnecting the negative side of the battery for 30 seconds right? I did that and the same codes came back. Please tell me if I tried to clear them wrong and how to clear them correctly.

Alright just checked the codes. Ecu has 3:
24: By pass air control valve
31:Throttle postion sensor
22:Knock sensor

Strange that the car always ran fine until I did the intercooler swap then these three codes turn up

06 wrx tmic problems!

Ok, I have a 92 legacy ss. It had an 02 wrx tmic which worked great except for the fact that it was smashed in there. Never had a problem with the car when it was installed. I decided to buy a new 06 wrx intercooler since they fit so much better. Had problems with a boost leak somewhere yesterday an...

Once it's gone, it's a P.I.T.A. to put it back on without any leaks and such. For resale purposes, not too many people want a car without AC, and your power gains and weight reduction are minimum. And forty or fifty pounds? Maybe 15. You'll get sick of it come next summer, I did when I removed mine....

I too would like to see pics. I imagine there were both camber and caster issues. The Caster issue he's refering to is the rear tires being pulled forward and getting closer to the door. I'd heard of swapping the mounts, but someone else told me they checked and the forester mounts were the same as...

You are correct. I put forester KYB GR2 struts and shocks on mine ($100 from PNP). That gave me about 2 1/2 inches. I did need to swap the rear tophats. The fronts just bolted up. The only issue I ran into was the caster angle on the rears. The back wheels were riding almost at the front of the whe...

Lifting my 92 legacy SS

Alright, I've decided I want to raise my car up and put some all terrain tires on it. I haven't found any definative answers but I believe most people raise their early legacys with Outback or Forester struts and springs with legacy tophats on the rear? Any help would be greatly appreciated! I want ...

Did you just slip the bolts into the retanier clip mounts??
Yes I did, they fit right in to all of them except the ones in the back. I just used a dremel make the slots alittle larger to fit the bolts.

The bolts and washers I used were 1/4 inch, not stock. I used an air powered drill and grinding wheel (dremel FTL). I made a template from cardboard and based everything around that. I'll try and a get write-up done by this weekend. Sorry to hear about your troubles.

Thanks alot guys, I really appreciate it! The major key to my success on the project was having the edges of the scoop sit on top of the hood, instead of having it layed into the hood. I have photos of the process and I'm thinking of making a quick write-up when I get a chance.

02 wrx scoop on 92 legacy ss

Thought I would share a few photos of today's project. Bought an 02 wrx hood scoop on ebay for $24 and retrofitted it onto my 1992 legacy ss. Here are a few shots of how it turned out: http://i111.photobucket.com/albums/n153/desmo750/hoodscoop010.jpg http://i111.photobucket.com/albums/n153/desmo750/...

New struts and springs

Alright I really need some new struts and would like to lower the car about an inch or so. I have a 92 legacy sport sedan and in doing some research I think I can use 02-03 wrx struts/springs combo with my stock top-hats. Is this possible? If I do end up using wrx struts will this give me more clear...

Engine management...

Hello everyone, I'm new to this forum from NASIOC and just picked up a nicely modified 92 Legacy Turbo. Here is the current set up: Engine: *Deadbolt Monster TD05H-16G turbo w/black Xtreme ceramic coating on the hot side and grey ceramic on the cold side. *WRX TMIC *Samco Y-pipe *CES Racing Systems ...
