U are right
The problem (in my 91 at least) is in the u shaped striker on the body. The driver door on mine was the first to go, first the light stayed on then the wind noise started. Then the passenger side door started misbehavin, again first the light, later wind noise. I tried a few things, then I took a cl...

Eureka! I don't know how front links can make that much of a difference. I put in the Whitelines on Saturday and wow! No clunking at all, the suspension sounds waaay better (actually now it doesn't sound hardly at all !!). At last that thunkin and clunkin over little breaks in the pavement are a thi...

Josh, I took Thawa's advice and ordered a set of GR2's for a 92 and installed them on my 91 AWD NA Wagon. They seemed to fit fine, improved the rear aspect somewhat (my old struts had the rear sagging somewhat). They seem to handle fine but there is NO and I mean NO bounce to the front struts. They ...

New struts not the complete answer?
I just finished putting GR-2s all around my 91 Legacy AWD wagon. They are a vast improvement over my old worn out struts but I am still getting some clunking up front around the right strut. Any ideas what could be the culprit? Ball joints? tie rod ends? any other guesses? The GR-2 s are sure nice, ...

search engine woes
Is there something wrong with the search engine or is it just me as usual? I tried to search for "antenna" (I want to know how to remove one) but nothing was found. Peculiar, if you look in the Parts Shed there is a post with the word "Antenna" in the subject line and I know I ha...

struts Sedan awd = Wagon awd?
Are the front and rear struts on the awd wagon (non-air suspension) interchangeable with the struts on the awd sedan? More importantly are the springs (esp. rear) interchangeable? Reason I ask is I have a sedan donor car for my wagon. I have ordered new gr-2's and was thinking of pulling the struts ...

Hmm, I wonder about those struts... 3 years ago I had my local Subie dealer swap out the air suspension. I immediately noticed that my subie appeared to have a droopy back end. The new suspension did not hold the rear of the car as high as the original air suspension. I questioned the service dept. ...

rear axles or diff weirdness?
I have a weird thing happening with my 91 AWD LS Wagon. Whenever I have a good load, ie 2 adults in the back seat or a heavy load in the rear compartment, I hear a loud growling if I try and accelerate at all quickly from a stop. It is worse if I am turning and starting such as leaving a stop sign a...

Lateral Link Woes
Driver's side rear cv (inner) boot is shot so I thought I'd replace the whole shaft. To remove the shaft you're supposed to remover the disc, hub nut etc then the lower link bolt. Then push the hub outward and remove the shaft. Hmm, easier said than done. The nut on the link bolt was a little reluct...
