on most i've seen, you put the car in neutral, handbrake on, push some button, turn the key off (engine will stay running),get out, and lock the doors. the system will shut the engine off. this is the only way it can know the car is in neutral. if you unlock/ open doors, it disables and you would ha...

do the rotors have any rust ridges? if so, may be the pads rubbing when the bearing/ knuckle flex on turning. if the pads are dry and rusty where they contact the caliper, try some moly grease or copper brake grease.

in short, no. just differences in the coil impedance. injectors are on/ off, flow is determined by the internal port sizes.

the chassis of these cars must be certified as crushed. there is no way they can sell them without facing huge fines. they are also not supposed to sell the drivetrain complete, but they can sell you every part of it, as long as they're separated. whats really funny, is the number of cars on this li...

you can access the connector for the temp sensor easily, but to remove it, the whole evaporator box has to come out. not too bad to do, but you will need to evacuate the a/c first, and recharge after. great chance to clean out the years of crap that build up in there also.

a/c cut relay is to disengage compressor on wot. sounds like you have a bad evaporator temp sensor. the part in the metal cage is the blower motor resistor. temp sensor connector is on top of the box, sensor is clipped to evaporator fins. easy to bypass to test.

you shouldn't need an inner tie rod tool on a subaru. if you can see the hex/ flat portion from underneath, you can get a wrench on it. it is a great tool, though. I only paid $75 for mine from snap-on, and I can't tell you how easy it makes changing inners. takes about 5 minutes. well worth the mon...

all depends on where it broke. if the whole inner socket is still attached, no big deal to just change the tie rod. if, however, you snapped the socket off, and have just the threads left in the rack, may be a little more difficult. best bet would probably be to drill/ ez-out it.

power balance tests what each cyl. is contributing- you disable one at a time, by unplugging injector, and see what rpm drops to. if it drops less with one particular cyl. disabled, that one's weak. could be compression/ valves/ ignition/ fuel or whatever, but points you in the (hopefully) right dir...

with the driveshaft out, remove the nut recessed in the center of the flange, pull the flange off (tap gently w/ a hammer if necessary), put the new one on, and torque to 123-145lb-ft.

unless a wheel bearing or cv is incredibly worn and grinding, it wont cost you any mileage. new ones would have more drag. if they're quiet and tight, i wouldnt worry about them. if it will rev beyond 4k, a restricted exhaust isn't likely. maybe a bad injector? have you done a power balance test? in...
