92 5MT Slipping out of 5th
When under constant acceleration, it stays in 5th gear. If you let up and the RPM's drop by more then a few 100, it slips out of gear. That is, mostly out of gear.....you can hear/feel it in the shifter hitting/bouncing on the gear, but you still have to clutch it to get it back in. What give? Need ...

Re: "clicking/knocking" sound from the right front
Thanks. I'll ask the guy if he used the autozone nut. Just went and bought the autozone halfshaft.......I know, I know,
but I need my car now. I'll just budget for the good one a couple years from now. Thanks for all the help!

Re: "clicking/knocking" sound from the right front
Thanks alot! I thought it would be a nightmare. The guy I bought it from had just replaced the same axle, but I was told that if he didn't torque it down enough, it would go out again. Is that true, or is there a bigger problem going on that' causing it?

Mattheww044: Mine was just the computer. When I bought it, niether one had worked for quite a while, I was told.. I swapped the computer with one from the junkyard and they both work perfectly! :-) Since you swapped the computer and they worked for a while, then one quit again, I'd try another compu...

You could just get one from a junk yard. I picked one up for "free" when I was buying another part.

Re: "clicking/knocking" sound from the right front
I'm thinking wheel bearing or cv joints. The guy I bought the car from just recently replaced the right front axle, so I'm not sure what it is.
Any advice?

UPDATE: I took the right front wheel off and found the sway bar link missing!
What damage could this have done to the car?

"clicking/knocking" sound from the right front
When I turn left I hear a "clicking/knocking" sound from the right front. It only does it under acceleration though. If coasting, it stays quiet as a mouse.

Re: water temperature sensor engine code
I'll check that as well. Also, not only does it ha ve a hard start when cold, but after it's running, if I give it gas before it warms up a little, it studders and trys to die unless I let up or really give it to it.

Are the wire for the black connectors black as well. I found two wires without the black plastic connectors that are hanging down, they both have the male ends that fit into a female spade connector. About 3/4" long each.

Re: water temperature sensor engine code
I have a 1993 Subaru Legacy L AWD Wagon with the same problem. Haven't been able to get it to quit either. Also, I just bought this car a couple of weeks ago and the check engine light was already flashing the codes at me. I assume the previous owner left the two black wires connected, but for the l...
