Hub Assembly/Wheel Bearing
I did some searching and couldnt quite figure it out... 1995 Legacy AWD manual- Im getting more and more certain that my RR wheel bearing is committing seppuku. If I load the right side by turning left I get that great wa, wa, wa , wawawwawaaw. Anyway, what I am trying to figure out is if I can do t...

Re: Battery Cables
I'd say that's a bit overkill but if you want to spend the money. I wouldn't just because it wouldn't be very flexible and it's harder to work with. What's scrap cable? Are you an installer? Cost me $15 total (for terminal connectors and clean bolts) :) Nope, where I work we go through 1/0 and 2 ga...

Re: Battery Cables
I used 1/0 for hot starter and 2 gauge for grounds
...something a little smaller for the frame ground, but not sure it was 4 gauge. I love "scrap" cable.
Didnt do the fuse block hot wire yet

Battery Cables
1995 Legacy 2.2L
Is there any trick to replacing battery cables (pos and neg)? I scored some nice new cables and my ground hardware is pretty rusty (bolts). But i noticed it looks like the battery cabling runs through the harness....bad to yank it out of the harness and replace?

Re: The Shimmy!
Do the jounce test on the struts...I believe it's pushing down on each corner firmly a couple of times and see if the car keeps moving after you let off....it should 'settle' immediately...not continue moving after you let go. Td But that just test the struts....you can rock blown struts all day lo...

Re: The Shimmy!
Seems 60-ish is the prime 'shimmy' speed....I'd get the balance checked....is your suspension good too? Worn struts/bushings/etc. can cause issues, too. Td Suspension is far from new (194k miles) so im actually afraid is bushing related. If i hit a pot hole (damn montana) I get a reverberating shak...

The Shimmy!
Swapped rims on my 95 Legacy -
Old rims were F'd and super bent/unbalanced. With these steelies they feel great until ~55 and then a pretty good shimmy comes through the steering, and then fades by ~65 and is great above that speed. Could this happen w/ unbalanced wheels?

Replacing oil pan
Im going to replace my oil pan on my 1995 Legacy L (2.2 manual)-
Apart from the gasket and my exhaust flange gaskets is there anything else i should do when im in there?
Anything I should check out w/ pan off?
Do you guys usually clean your PCV valves or buy new ones?

Trans partially engaged in Neutral?
1995 legacy 2.2L Ive adjusted my clutch (cable) to spec after repacing it. The feel is excellent. BUT While im in neutral w/ the clutch out (pedal up) there seems to be drag as if it were trying to drive the car SLIGHTLY. Say i park so that the car would roll VERY slowly backwards if it were in neut...

Re: Shifter Linkage Spring
Welcome to the BBS. You shifter knob will not center properly. There will be resistance one way, but will be loose and floppy the other way. It won't hurt anything, but I'd suggest replacing it. Sweet, figured this was the case. Thanks. Ill probably leave a junk yard and one will have put itself in...
