Re: Rob Tune Review
Rob does great great work. He's done all the tuning on my rally car (RIP) and never had problems with it. He had to do some custom work to deal with my high-boost, low RPM setup with a turbo restrictor, but it made fantastic power and helped propel the car to many top 5 stage times nationally. Not t...

Re: Well, It's Done For (Massive crash)
Right now it's looking like I am going to build up an 06-07 STI. Got line on a local shell for super cheap, and working with EcoTech and JSpecAuto to get an EJ207 driveline with 6-speed. Most of my other parts will work, brakes, seats, steering wheel, etc. Those are the kind of things that nickel an...

Re: Well, It's Done For (Massive crash)
Yar. I saw that on reddit. Sad days. I'm glad you're both alright though. Where on there did you see it? Link? Not sure if we'll build another first gen. I've always had a hankering to rally a hawkeye.... and really wanted to get a 6-speed next. It'll be a few months till we figure out what to do.

Well, It's Done For (Massive crash)
So at the 100AW rally this weekend, my wife and I were setting some great times (Top 6) and pushing hard. Came into this corner a little hot, still felt in total control even once we tapped the bank, expecting a high speed spinout, instead found a hidden stump that launched us straight into a tree a...

Re: Dang air in my brakes
Bench bleed the MC to get it out. The subie MC is angled up slightly, so if the reservoir is emptied, it'll be impossible to get all the air out without taking the MC off the car.

Re: Budget Rumble
You have "the rumble" already. Getting a catless downpipe combined with something like a turboXS exhaust (the one that looks like a stock STI one) will be a way to get that rumble without it being annoyingly loud or looking like a douche.

Re: Ej20G Swap - What to expect?
Like mentioned above, I'm sure the shop hasn't done an EJ20G swap into an older car before, so they are quoting a typical 257/207/205 swap in a newer WRX. Where it costs about $3-5k for the engine alone, along with some minor wiring.

Re: Happy New year and Happy 25th birthday to all '91 owners
Given the rally car is really only used for exhibition, and a few personal miles, I am going to be applying for historic plates on the legacy.
Would be interesting to see the historic plates taking on the 2015 STI's in the RA championship.

Re: Euro legacy headlight bulb question
I'd be curious to see what you come up with. Replicating a 360 degree radiating filament with (tiny?) LEDs that can support any sort of reasonable current (or heat) seems a tall order. Good luck. 360* isn't needed, common misconception. Can't give away too much, but without a doubt the 360* isn't n...

Re: Euro legacy headlight bulb question
Word of caution, wait until I announce some stuff. Literally all the LED headlights on the market right now are crap. Only a very select few from some obscure suppliers are actually good. I am taking the best elements of all the "right" bulbs, and working on a new one. We are hoping to lau...

Figured it out. H4 bulbs are what is used in the euro lights. Huge improvement over 9004.

Re: Euro legacy headlight bulb question
Ideally pre.
I do lighting design (led bulbs and such) for my company, and I know the 9004s are plain awful in design. Everyone raves about the upgrade for the Euro lights, so I'm curious what bulb goes into it. Lots of people falsely think that plastic vs glass is why it is much better.

Does the Euro glass legacy headlight use a 9004 bulb like the usdm legacy?

Re: Direct Upgrade replacement for OEM Diverter/Bypass Valve
Yep, and I've run two seasons on a VF11 with no BPV and 13 psi of boost. That's about.... 1000 miles of WOT full boost multiple shifting and 6000 miles of transits. People might scoff at "only" 1000 miles, but that's seeing abuse that no street car will ever see in its lifetime.
