Re: Vortech FMU for additional fueling?
Yeah anything past 10psi will be sure rod failure on a stock EJ22 haha. But you definitely can use the FPR if you have the right build for it.

Re: Vortech FMU for additional fueling?
There was a user on here that acheived 22/23psi on a RobTune with an adjustable FPR and an SVX MAF. The FPR was allowing him to get that extra bit of fuel and fine tune it all.

here's an example, this was right when I finished the 20g swap on wastegate which is about 11psi. at 18ish the pitch is much higher. still sounds sick. haha.

Re: Direct Upgrade replacement for OEM Diverter/Bypass Valve
Go for it. I promise, it's tried and true for me and I've never had an issue with it. People will disagree, but I've done this with a TD04, VF39, and TD05 16g 12-20psi TMIC and FMIC for long periods and never had problems.

Re: Direct Upgrade replacement for OEM Diverter/Bypass Valve
On topic, that Forge valve looks cool for anyone wanting to keep the stock look but have a nice upgrade. I, as well as many others, have broken our old shitty brittle BPV's, haha.

Re: Direct Upgrade replacement for OEM Diverter/Bypass Valve
Heres my thoughts: I have ran atmospheric, recirc, and closed off. I personally like not running a BOV. Heres the thing, from everything i've seen heard and read, journal bearing turbos under 20psi are unlikely to be damaged. I know a ton of 240sx guys with SR20DET and RB25DET engines, even 1JZGTE's...

Re: Easy install front mount?
No I just wanted the BOV to be right next to the throttle plate and also visible. If I wanted to run recirc also, the hose would be much shorter from the BOV back to the intake in that location as well haha.

Re: Easy install front mount?
Idk what you're asking haha the nipple would normally be next to the brake booster on the pipe. I welded it shut and welded a new flange on as you can see.

Re: Easy install front mount?
The turkey gobble sounds, I capped that nipple on the IC piping off. So it was pure compressor surge at the time, I ran no BOV for a long long time and my turbo was still strong as hell. I don't beleive compressor surge on journal bearing turbos are harmful at all. Many of my 240sx friends have bigg...

Re: Easy install front mount?
I wouldn't keep the stock valve. get a Turbo XS recirculating valve or something of the like. The outlet is going to be way too small for the stock valve, and I don't even think that valve would work well enough to vent all the air from that big of piping.

Re: Easy install front mount?
Yeah theres a nipple on the underside of the cold side throttle body pipe for a BOV. it's a pain in the ass becuase its damn near touching the clutch master reservoir. For a long time I ran a hose off that nipple and put a BOV on the end of it but then I just had it welded up and my BOV welded onto ...

Thanks man! No idea what the 2 liter made, i've read people with similar setups making 280whp, but i'm putting a 2.5 in with a rotated HX35 turbo and plan to be making 400whp. Whats your IG name? Ever have questions feel free to hit me up

Easy install front mount?
I didn't take many engine bay pics but you can kinda see here. This is the night I blew the engine up hahaha. In reality, I would have liked to do what TurnNBurn said is flip the thing upside down and run the tubes behind the lights. Cleaner and less piping as well. But this worked great for me and ...

Re: Grounding issue?
The ECU ground is the big ground coming off the Neg battery wire. It's bolted on to the intake manifold directly infront of the brake booster. I'd make sure that's tight.
Sorry I don't have a pic at the moment.
