Re: North Id, Eastern WA Snow Rally-X!!!!
Todd, Good to hear from you! Also glad that you're still in the Legacy but that comes with mixed emotions as I know you wanted the Forester project to work out. I am assuming it didn't if you kept the Legacy, so to that, sorry to hear. As far as ASNW, it is a plow issue. We have a couple people who ...

Re: Removing drivers side head
It can be done. It's very tight but you can replace both HG's with the motor in the car - I personally have. The bolt will not come all the way out of the head because it hits the frame rail. But it should slide out enough to dissengage the threads/bore in the block. IIRC, most of the lower bolts do...

Re: North Id, Eastern WA Snow Rally-X!!!!
I apologize for being the bearer of bad news but the Jan. event has been cancelled. Weather up here has been pretty relentless in that it's either been cold, or snowing with only a few warm days mixed in. This has caused the burms from the Dec. event to freeze solid. The rest of the track has many f...

Re: Car broke down on my way to Rally-X. Need Help. Again.
Florin, you need to find Josh's files. The one you need right now is 1992_Subaru_Service_Manual-Engine_&_Wiring.pdf Once you have that - Cam Sensor, p.191/335 Ignition System, p.181/335 That should get you on a good start. It would be helpful to clear the ECU and try to crank it again to see whi...

FS : 91' 3.90 LSD Rear Diff
I'm posting this for a gentleman in my auto-x club. He bought it a few years ago for a project and has never used it. He remembers buying from a Legacy SS forum so there's a very high likelyhood he got it from here originally. He's looking for $230 plus shipping. The item is located in the Spokane/N...

Re: HLA Problems, Input?
And I'm glad the motor rebuild is going well. It's amazing how busy life gets and how quickly it can distract you from the fun projects but mad props to you for being patient and continueing to do it right. You're going to have a bullet proof motor. Can't wait to see more dyno charts come spring :).

Re: HLA Problems, Input?
Well I found the problem. Some little piece of sealant or silicone (small, flatish, squishy, rubbery) got between the shaft support and the rocker shaft. There is a little flat on the rocker shaft on the front end where the oil inlet into the shaft is and that little piece of sealant got in that lit...

Re: North Id, Eastern WA Snow Rally-X!!!!
Awesome! It'd be great if your friends could at least register online prior to the event even if they can't pay. But I also understand sometimes that just doesn't work and I don't want to beat you up over it more than I already have. Great that you're coming up though! I've asked the question about ...

Re: North Id, Eastern WA Snow Rally-X!!!!
Florin, Ah geeze! I completely forgot to answer you question. I'm sorry man. We won't be moving the race. Finding venues is exceptionally difficult and ASNW needs to keep it somewhat local in order to be able to do all the legwork required to put on a race. It's a drive for some I know, but, at leas...

Re: HLA Problems, Input?
Josh, Thanks for the reply. I do agree with you on the seafoam degrading the oil's performance a little. That is one of the reasons I only leave it in for 200mi or so. I've done this before and others on the BBS have done it as well. But, I do agree that not a long term oil mix. I'm glad to know you...

HLA Problems, Input?
So my 96' OBW has been having some HLA issues starting about a week ago. (Before anyone says 96's don't have HLA's - mine does. Single port exhaust, roller cam followers, and HLA's - it's unique i know :)) There's always been a little bit of typical llifter noise but about a week ago it got signfica...

Re: WTB rear SS brake caliper
Aren't NA wagon pistons the same size as the SS? It was my understanding the only difference between the NA wagon caliper and the SS caliper was the thickness for the vented rotor. If so, I would think the actual pistons would be the same.
I don't know, might give you a few more options though.

Re: North Id, Eastern WA Snow Rally-X!!!!
Sorry for the late reply to the questions guys. Florin - The price is $25 per day if you're a club member and $30 per day if you are not. If you pre-register and pre-pay for both days then you get $5 off for the weekend. If your friends want to drive your car that's just fine. We call that co-drivin...

Re: North Id, Eastern WA Snow Rally-X!!!!
We will hold an event weekend per month as long as the weather permits and there is enough participation. We do not have acess to a large snow plow so a huge snow can cause a cancellation.
That said, we do have January and February currently scheduled .

North Id, Eastern WA Snow Rally-X!!!!
Ladies and Gentleman, It is that time of year again. The Auto-X guys are putting away their sticky tires and slammed cars and retiring to the garage for another winter of project building. Meanwhile, us rally/snow oriented drivers are getting jazzed about the prospect of speeding around the track in...

Odd O2 sensor behavior
I don't know if this is the right forum or if this should be in the electrical, but here it is anyways. I'm getting my EM pretty well dialed but have come across a 'problem'. My EM is strictly fueling and is a piggy back that works by sending a modified signal through the MAF harness. This only real...

Re: Looking for EJ20H timing belt part number.
There is a fantastic thread on Nasioc about DOHC timing belt changes. All DOHC timing belts are the same. If you look online you will find that you can get a high quality Gates racing timing belt for cheaper than a dealer STi belt.
FWIW, I'm running EJ20H heads and a Gates belt meant for an STi.

Re: How much did you sell you Legacy SS for? Fighiting insur
Sorry to hear that you're having problems with this. I bought my 93' AT, 123k-ish, for $1,800. But it also had a salvaged tittle. I sold a decently prepped 91'SS with WRX tranny, PP6, exhaust, intake, for $1,800. These cars are so subjective and vary wildy in price. It's going to be hard to get more...

Re: I want regular ol' brakes (ABS delete?)
That T-fitting you found, P/N BQ91A, is exactly what I got I believe. I know it's M10 and I'm pretty sure the thread pitch is 1 and not 1.5 or 1.25. The seat type is important of course, duh :), and the BQ91A has it right. And it does not matter which line goes to which side of the t-fitting. There ...

Re: I want regular ol' brakes (ABS delete?)
I'm afraid I can't remember which ABS pump I had and just threw it away a couple weeks ago. It was the stock ABS pump for my 93' SS. There was a lot of line to bend but it can be done. You have six lines that run along the frame rail under the airbox and then they bend up, running along the ABS pump...

Re: I want regular ol' brakes (ABS delete?)
It can be done a couple of ways. All the ABS pump does is split the two lines off the master cylinder into the four lines that go the proportiong valve and the front brakes. So ultimately all you need to do is place a couple t-fittings to just split the two lines from the master into the four going ...

Re: Emergency!! tranny binding when rolling straight!!
Really silly question because I don't the internal structure of the auto's very well, but, can you just put the FWD fuse in? I wouldn't trust it for a road trip but it may get you home to your shop. When you say binding, I assume it's jerky and not just stiff resistance. Have you been hitting the tr...

This is a sad, sad, sad day Todd and I hate to see you put it up for sale but I understand why. Hopefully you won't be a stranger even though you're leaving the Legacy world. I've personally seen and riden in this car many times and it is a strong car with lots of life and future left. Todd is also ...
