That's the same style as the one Grimmspeed uses. I wouldn't mind trying one out, but not for anything close to the money GS wants for one.

Re: GD WRX ACT ProLite Flywheel and Exedy OEM Clutch kit
Our OBD1 cars do not have the excess of self-diagnosis that the GD WRX's and newer models have. We can do any number of things like virtually anything we want with the exhaust as long as the O2 sensor is present somewhere, lightweight flywheels and pulleys galore, etc. Of course, when the guys with ...

Because you haven't sued the yet. The government doesn't have a department that vets this kind of thing. Its up to consumers to say "hey, this guy is flat-out exploiting people", lawyer up, and sue their pants off. And then be sorely disappointed when $70,000 in legal fees later, they find...

5W-40 is within the factory recommended weight range and that specific brand/type is commonly used in the Subaru community.

Re: Center diff questions:
The STI's were all 5spd until the GD/bugeye body style. Even after they switched to 6spd, DCCD remained optional on the Japanese models for several years.

Re: Center diff questions:
The 5spd DCCD was optional in the V4 - V6 WRX STI's. The DCCD section itself works the same as the 6spds, and the controllers will work on either. It has a 36:64 F/R torque split and all came in 4.44 FD if I recall. I have been keeping an eye out for years and haven't come across just the DCCD secti...

Re: Tire preferences
If you track your car with any frequency at all, my recomendation is to go cheap on DD all-seasons (the grippier ones suck balls in snows anyways, I had the Toyo Proxes on in snow once and they were far worse than every set of 'regular' all season tires I've ever driven on). Then save up for a set o...

I like the look of that scoop. But I do feel like the cutout will be the biggest crowd pleaser. I'd be interested in hearing from thoughts of the TMIC guys.

I didn't know there was a standard to which they were rated. Every I've seen with one just says its a high flow, some say metal. I doubt most people know how dense theirs is.

Are those clips broken? I've always seen the stubs just popped back into place if they were accidentally removed.

Re: Official CF/FG Hood Discussion/Status Thread
This is a wonderful read to start my morning! What kind of fabbing is required at the hinges to have them attach to the hood? This would definitely be my preferred method even for a strict race vehicle, as completely detaching what is essentially a rigid sail is not always desirable. As far as scoop...

Luckily, I found one on ebay, advertised as good, used with no shaft play with an intercooler.. looks to be from a ver 1 ej20... So I've got it on the way. Thanks for the advice, guys! I'll just keep this one for spare parts and maybe practice my cast iron welding... :smt043 Side note: I thought on...

Re: Bushings to help with squatting rear end
Wagons have firmer rear springs than sedans, 190lbs. They are similar in stiffness to GD STI pink springs. Just a heads up as many aftermarket springs for the GC and GD are actually softer than that.

Re: Ej22t swap
I was playing with an online calculator, and to make up the difference in injector flow you would need to nearly double fuel pressur, which IMO sounds like a buttload of possible issues with the fuel system. Does your FPR allow static pressure that high? Will our fuel lines even hold up to that? Eve...

Just did a Google search... wasn't until after it was pulled from the US that they did the rebadging, though it was with Suzuki and Daihatsu, not Hyundai. Now I'm not sure how much I can trust my brain, because I was certain I read that in more than one place.

I do think that could be easier. When I did my EJ20G/5spd swap I was thinking that was probably the way to go after the fact.

Re: Ej22t swap
I'm just going to suggest getting the turbo injectors. Can the N/A ones be made to work by playing fuel pressure? Yeah maybe. But achieving that is at odds with a daily driver that needs to avoid extended periods of downtime, and the turbo injectors will perform better and have better fuel economy t...
