Re: What did you do to your Subie today?

Nice, may have to look into it. Already tired of my brakes and I haven't even been on a track yet.

I placed an order on interior, this time from a company and with shipping taken care of.

Re: Help, Code 24.

I wonder what was meant by code 49 "Use of improper air flow sensor"? I would've expected code 23 to be thrown if it is a faulty maf since there is no fail safe operation related to code 49.

Re: Help, Code 24.

When does it throw cel? All the time or just occasionally? Mine kept coming on if engine braking at low rpm. If I took it out of gear and let it idle a second or two, cel would go away. Never found out what it was and the problem went away when I had the aftermarket ecu fitted. I tried another iacv ...

Re: kimokalihi's 91 SS EJ20 Swap

I have a condition that causes me to feel incredibly restless and anxious and even depressed when I go a whole day and get nothing accomplished. If I waste away an entire day I begin to feel trapped in a rut like my life is going nowhere and I'm worthless. I feel claustrophobic and suffocated. In a...

Some coil pack measurements, please

Could someone please measure the length of the bolts for the 2-bolt coil packs and the outer diameter of the brass collar or flange or whatever it is called that goes into the head and centers the coil pack? Accidentally bought single bolt coil packs they seem to fit fine but the bolts are 8mm so th...

Re: Why not to run an atmospheric BOV on a Legacy

The forge vta I had on my impreza worked fine, only problem was if you let go of the throttle just as it reached boost it would pop loudly. Otherwise there was no difference between running with stock vs vta. I got a 01 wrx recirc on the legacy and had planned for a more subtle vta this time. After ...

Re: HappyFrog's 1992 Legacy Turbo

Haha, I'm not that greedy, it is too much for trackdays anyway.
My original goal was 350bhp, but my tuner told me that neither heads or turbo was good for that much power, so I turned it down to 300. Now that I have the dyno sheet I've turned it up a bit again, but we'll see.

Re: HappyFrog's 1992 Legacy Turbo

Thanks, I'm not satisfied yet though. It spiked at 5475rpms which is a bit too early and torque drops off too much as well so I'm eager to see what the coils will do for it. I'm having second thoughts about turning the boost up though, 24psi will push the 16g above its optimal work range, no reason ...

Re: HappyFrog's 1992 Legacy Turbo

Been a bit quiet here the last month or so, been waiting for coil packs. Finally arrived yesterday and I will get them fitted tuesday or wednesday. Re: What did you do to your Subie today?

They were informed about weight and dimensions when I got the quotation, they suddenly just wanted $90 more and the seller (rightfully) assumed I wasn't willing to pay that much and cancelled the deal. Oh well, my coil packs have arrived at the postoffice and I will go pick them up tomorrow, so I'm ...

Did it help replacing the bcs? Definitely sounds like sensor/ecu problems when boost is constant, I would expect boost acting weird if you had a leak.

Re: What did you do to your Subie today?

Nice example you got there :smt023 I paid for interior yesterday, so what looks like mint 95 wrx interior should be on its way. Re: Low boost stock 94ss

Also check the hose on the turbo outlet, it may have cracked from being baked all these years. Mine was in a horrible state when I replaced it (had been repaired with tape by some previous owner at one point  ).

Does boost drop when you go into higher rpms or does it stay at 5psi?

Re: So whats the best Turbo/Injector Combo?

I run a td05-16g on 550's, fmic and aftermarket ecu. It was dynoed 294/293 a couple of weeks ago and there is still more left in it. I had a 99 impreza earlier with a td04 @ ~20 psi and dynoed 267/261. (both on crank) The td04 kicks in much earlier and builds boost a lot faster, but the td05 is much...
