AWIC tubing?

Post by LaureltheQueen »

For the JDM/ADM awic stock on the leggies...

Does anybody sell this?

Not the stock air tubing, as i believe the turbo's different, but stuff made to "plug and play" on our setup?

If nobody has done this, who would be interested in me having a couple extra tubes bent and putting together kits for the air side of things?

It's a 90 degree with tubing for the BPV.

I would just use a straight pipe with the BPV outlet and a 90 degree silicone reducer to the turbo outlet. Like this http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayI ... 82666&rd=1

Try to make the pipe the same size as the inlet on the IC and I'm just guessing on the size of the ebay hose. When you change to a better turbo all you should have to do is change the 90 degree elbow for the size and angle of the new turbo.

That's what I was thinking about doing when I hook mine up - the straight pipe with a coupler on the end that I can change if the need arises.

When were you thinking about doing this Laurel? If its within the next week or so, I'd be in for one. I'm gonna try to get my AWIC installed before I go way for my summer job in June.

it'll be probably early july before I have enough $$ for all the parts I need. I'm doing dp, turbo, fcd, mbc, and ic all in one fell swoop

Cool. I went looking after I posted that, and I think I'm going to go with 2 silicon couplers and a short piece of pipe with a fitting for the BPV.

This one has no bov fitting

This is the bloody exp Samco hose you can buy, and you have to cut it down as well

Is the 2nd one heater / rad hose? I was thinking about using a setup exactly like that (obviously with a BPV fitting), but figured silicon couplers would be a better choice.

Edit: Until I saw Canadian prices for them... I guess heater hose will have to do me until the fall, when I can afford to find some cheaper ones on Ebay.

Well THAWA, that's because it's for an older car and I bet expensive. Did you try any place outside of the US? http://www.forgemotorsport.com/content. ... t=1602SILH

well I sort of have a friend who's dad spends ridiculous amounts of money at a local porsche shop, that carries samco tubing, they're sorta VIPs there. A mutual friend got a couple hundred dollars off of seats there for dropping his name

The model is TCS22 it is for the early WRX and you have to cut the Samco hose.

Yeah you would have to cut it for the AWIC but for a Slant that's a killer bit.

It's like $75-$100.

I didn't try anyplace out of the US because I don't think samco keeps these in stock. I believe they're special order, so no matter where you order they're going to take a while.

A place like MRT might stock it... but yeah if you can find a place in the US that will order it I'd say it's your best bet.

Still I don't think it would be hard to fab up something.
