94 SS and 97 Legacy 5mt will it work?

will a 5mt from a 97 legacy sedan work in a 94 SS with an auto? i know ill have to change the ECU, but has anyone tried this or know if it will work?

I doubt the final drive ratio is the same as the SS.

ok, i can pull the rear end that matches the tranny, thats not a problem.

You don't have to change the car ECU, there is a pin on the connector that let an auto ecu run with a manual tranny. Its a matter of replacing a ground signal to the pin with a 12v signal.

Then you just remove the auto tranny ecu, which is a different unit.

Other than that it shoud fit if you use the whole drivetrain
92 l swapped to ej22T with 2.0T shortblock
4.111 manual 2.5RS tranny, sti eng mount, wrx I/C, MBC, WRX turboback exhaust, WRX front seats, STI rad cap, WRX specR1 struts, Eibach springs , leg turbo front brake, WRX rear brake.
