best springs

Post by blakh »

hi i have a 93 L FWD sedan and was hoping that maybe some people here have used more then one type of springs on some of their rides, so i could get a comparison between a few brands that i was looking into, or if you just have something to say about them id be glad to hear it.. these were the companies i was looking at:

BG Suspension
Eibach
HR
RSR
TEIN -? if they make ones that fit.

thanks

Are you going with the stock shock and just replace the spring?
If you only go with the spring then I will suggest the eibach.
BTW, I do have change the AGX shock with stock spring and it gives very good ride.

Just my opinion.

I believe that Tristan has a set of near-new GR-2's that he'd love to get off his hands for a fwd

no problems with them?? i have read good and bad things (they go out after a year, some people said they are worse then stock) about the gr-2s so im wasnt sure how good an idea it was to go with them, but i am open to hear your guys opinions since u all have the same kind of car.

BG - crap
Eibach - sag
RSR - never rode on 'em.
TEIN - sag AND uncomfortable.

You need new shocks if you're going to upgrade your springs.

i had KYBs and H&R springs in my legacy for a LONG time, even before i started working here. Awesome ride. Eventually sold the setup to -K-.

i just installed Koni inserts for an RS with 2000 RS springs and tophats. i've driven it across country but have yet to tune everything. at medium stiff, the struts are strong. i'd recommend the RS springs, the ride quality is pretty much perfect for me--not too stiff or bouncy, just solid.

I had my whitelines on when my car was FWD.

FWD/AWD doesn't really matter too much, as long as you have the correct struts.

i second the RS springs - wrx springs would most likely work well too. You could prolly get some on ebay cheap
