Replace 95 Legacy 14 inch wheels (steel)

Post by MikeC5 »

I was hoping to get some advice on getting some affordable used alloy wheels to fit a 95 Legacy. Is there any benefit (other than looks) to go with a 15 or 16 inch wheel? It sounds like WRX used wheels are fairly common. Can I find these with the same offset as my Legacy (not sure what the steel 14 inchers offset is).

Alternatively, any source for Moon discs that would fit the steel wheels?

Can anyone tell me what the wheel offset should be for a 95 Legacy? I've been looking at wheel ads but they typically don't give the offset. Has anyone put together a table that shows the various diameters/offsets/interchangeability for Subaru wheels?

Thanks Psychoreo. I've been using the search but am not finding much relative to a 95 Legacy (or more importantly, what can be shared with same).

mostly because this is a "A forum for 89-94 BC-BF Legacy Owners and Fans" as per the top of every damn page on this website. 95 wheel specs are the same though.

larger wheels let you run larger brakes and lower profile tires w/o changing your gearing.

wheels are 5x100.

I just got a set of 15 x 7" Ronals that were OEM on a Jetta. They have 38mm offset and really fill out the fender nicely. There is no rubbing with 195/60-15s as the inside edge of the wheel in within a couple mm of the stock rim. They fit so snugly on the hub and lugs, like they were made for a Legacy. $60 on ebay. There are lots of VW takeoffs out there cheap. I put some photos in my SVX locker.

I have to admit I missed the "89-94 BC-BF Legacy" part.... Was there a major redesign for 95? I think I'm going to just keep an eye out for some decent used 15 alloys.

Slap some SS riims on that baby.

Super noob- Those Ronals don't look too bad. I thought about putting some VW rims on my legacy too. I think I am going to upgrade when I need to buy new tires.
