Did my Snorkusectomy today

Post by Splinter »

Will host some pics shortly.

It went fairly well, there was so much rotten crap inside my fender, behind the liner. Sick.

Basically what I did was take off the fender liner, unbolt the snorkus (and the filter box from inside the engine bay), pull it out, unscrew the plastic casing and remove it, and put the bare pipes back into the fender.

Unfortunally, when I was putting everything back together I managed to break off a small nipple from my radiator, so Im a little concerned about pushing the car hard to see how I feel about the mod.

Any idea why my K&N has that big black mark on it?

Because that's where the main tube dumps the air into. So all the dirt hits that same spot when air velocity is high.

Re: the broken rad nipple. The composite end tanks also become fragile

OEM rad for 4eat was $810 cdn, so I put in a Koyo aluminum (v. shiny on the top plate :D ) which has about 30 % more cooling capacity :-D

$420 cdn
