Engine Rebuild Kit - Where do you recommend/prefer?

Post by stant093 »

Im looking for a complete rebuild kit for my 94 SS and cant seem to find any place that has everything in a "kit". im looking for crank bearings to intake manifold gaskets. My plans are a complete tear down of the EJ22T and replace any and all worn & problematic parts, right now it has a significant low end knock :(. I ideally would like to buy all the parts from one dealer if possible to cut down on shipping costs.

Any links or input is appreciated.

Thanks!
Sam

If you want subaru stuff, there is not a rebuild kit with bearings, etc.

Here's the stuff I'd recommend you get:

Engine rebuild kit (gaskets, etc): 10105AA052
Piston Rings (std size): 12033AA390
Crank Bearings: 12209AA000
Connecting Rod Bearings: 12108AA290
Three Bond 1207c: 004403012
Three Bond 1215: 004403007
Three Bond 1105/Fuji Bond C: 004403010

There's other stuff you can/should replace, but I didn't list them.

Rebuild kit was around $240-250
Piston rings $111
Crank bearings $83
Conn. Rod bearings $174 (ouch)
Three Bond 1207c $22.37
Three Bond 1215$18.92
Three Bond 1105/Fuji Bond C $11.18

Those prices are from Jamie @ www.subarugenuineparts.com (except the rebuild kit)

I just bought a kit from IPP. When I get it I will tell you how it looks.
At $249 it is WAAAAAAY cheaper than oem.

I got it. Its looks really really complete. it even came with cam seal, valve cover gaskets, and what not. Its described as a rereing kit, I guess they dont know you dont have to take the haeds apart to do that.
anyway. Im putting DOHC heads on mine, so if you or anybody else wants the sohc gaskets that im not going to use, I will sell them cheap. It even came with valve seals.

my car has 201K on the original motor and everything and im looking to rebuild what needs reuilding in the hopes to start some performance modifications. would you also suggest these parts for me? my motor as of now has no internal problems that i can detect but i dont want to start with any power adders before i know the motor is safe. also how much more difficult is this procedure compared to an inline motor? thanks
