Ford large vehicles are top of the line, its all the other ford products that are serious CRAP.
Truts me, this knowledge initially came to me from a DIE HARD ford fan. Any F series pickup, E series van, Mustang or Crown Vic is going to be great. Anything else and you should look elsewhere. Its real funny if you think about it, all the vehicles I mention basically use the same parts in one way or another. The only reason ford even makes some of the small crappy cars it does is to offset the gas guzzling SUV's they produce for smog reasons.
Perhaps the newspaper meant that ford had the supercharged version in development but delayed release until the bugs could be worked out?

Didn't Ford Foci have a problem with the rear driver side wheel falling off? And with some front suspension bolt coming loose, causing the whole suspension to collapse? And a bunch of electrical shorts causing engine fires? Each of those led to recalls, right?
