[cough]Top-mount interheater[/cough]
I was there at one point too... but all I'll say about top-mounts is, "Never enough time to do it right, always enough time to do it twice."

^^^ it will take a little bit of time + money, do it good the first time and you will never half to worry about it at all.

It's just some bent exhaust piping and some truck radiator hoses, and some use of a Sawzall.
Everyone is scared of front-mount piping until they've experienced one install. That is all it will take for you to change your tune, I guarantee it.
In fact, this is why front-mount IC piping kits cost so much money - they prey on those who think it's too tough to work out on their own. But it's not.
If you've got the skill and knowledge to install a top-mount IC, you can install a front-mount. Same concepts, just takes some extra thought for the routing.
As far as how much pressure a TMIC vs a FMIC can handle, that's dependant on your turbo's efficiency and your IC's efficiency. But I'll guarantee you, if you were to compare a top-mount with a front-mount of the same size - the front-mount would cool the intake charge much better. Not only that, but there's more room up front for larger ICs, for even better cooling.

I have actually been looking around ebay and have spotted some FMIC cores that are quite large, and come with no piping for less than $150 canadian. I think this may be the way to go, and I have been looking around my engine bay while I am fixing my front end and by removing the snorkus and the A/C system, I don't think it will be too hard to run the piping.

we get like two months of "cold" weather if we're lucky, it's usually not even completely cold throughout the winter. A few days ago it was like 78-80 degrees out, and a few days before that it was almost freezing.
We don't see many days in the 30's here; we actually don't see many days below 60 here.
I want out. Cold weather, you can just put on some more clothes. Hot weather, especially with the 90% average humidity around here, just ain't cool unless you're at the beach / pool.
That's why I now group FL with New York in my category of "Nice to visit, wouldn't want to live there..."

Yup, I am a resident of Alberta at the moment, but will be moving to B.C. within the next few years. AC deletion really won't be that big of a loss to me, because when the weather is hot I constantly am cruising with the windows down and the stereo up.
Before I attempt the FMIC however, I need to find a front clip in Canada.
