but he by passed that and put a small seperate cooler in the bottom grill for the tranny only
I think it is this flower bed plastic edging stuff, pretty common to use as a spoiler on race cars and stuff.

yup, thats the stuff.
the owner before did that too
ill take some pics of the trans cooler tomorrow!
The heat exchanger in the rad tank is designed, of course, to keep the 4eat oil from overheating.
The other purpose is to keep it from running too cool. The temp sensor works with the tranny computer.
In the winter you might consider routing the tranny oil back through the normal rad tank cooler and in the summer run it out through the extra cooler and then back into the tran.
In series, so to speak.

I haven't had any problem in Colorado with my trany oil just going through the cooler in the winter.

the oil is thicker in the winter due to the cooler temperatures and the parts experience faster wear due to insufficient lubrication.
much like those of us who drive 5MT's, on cold winter mornings it's like shifting gears in a transmission filled with partially set concrete.
IMHO, That front lip "thing" is pretty damn fugly. Your exhaust should be angle up about 15 degrees for a nice apperance, and not clocked so far off to the left. Otherthen those things...nice ride

and i agree about the exhaust i wish the owner before me did that.
would it be hard to have a shop bend the pipe up like that?
i do not mind the front lip, i know its cheap and not the best looking, but i think it looks better then the stock bumper.
welcome, i had the same dame lip from home depot on my legacy turbo, then i ran over a tire at 180kms and rip the shit right off hahahah. thank god it was 10bucks.
I kinda like the flower bed lip. How is it held on, though? Staples? Looks like it in the second pic. Baybe some different fasteners and/or black paint would make it look real good.
