Has anyone install a stock MAF at the TB on a turbo setup?

Heads, valves, pistons, rods, crankshaft, etc...

Has anyone install a stock MAF at the TB on a turbo setup?

Post by my3awds »

I was wondering, has anyone tried placing the stock maf at or near the TB on a turbo setup (blow-through setup) instead of before the turbo (draw-through setup)? I know on dsm's, we can run a 3.5" GM MAS like this, but it needs a translator since the bung is different then the dsm's. Since the air is metered right before the TB instead, this allows for better saftey (if an intercooler hose blows, the car won't bog since the metering is right before the TB). If your ricey, you can vent without issue since it will not cause a rich issue between shifts.

Since I'm running an N/A ecu, this seems theoretically possible since in an N/A stock setup, that's how it's installed isn't it? MAF->Intake Hose->TB. Sounds plausable. Guess I could always try it myself and post results. Anyone?

many of the High HP cars PDX tuning does I think do that. Are you searching on NASIOC in the conversion forum? There is lots of support over there...

We work with a lot of blow-through cars. It gives you the flexibility of MAP for packaging, but all the benefits of MAF based fueling.

I'll probably go to a blow-through when I rework the motor.

i am assuming that this is something that will work better w/a FMIC than a TMIC, correct?
