Is that really an RA motor, or did you guys just paint the valve covers?

And please tell me what you're going to do for a front bumper beam.

DOHC. All of the DOHC cars had provisions for pipe to run under the manifold.

True, but I'd be interested in making sure the bumper cover fits and doesn't sag. ;)

Fuck the bumper.
This is not a daily driver.

I dont want to give away too much info, as this car does not belong to me.

I will say its a 2.2, is standalone, and belongs to someone on this board. ;-)

Would it be possible to run this setup with the bumperbeam intact?

Maybe making the incision further down?

Also, can we get some more pics of how the turbo is installed?

With a USDM bumper beam, you're looking at a very short and wide intercooler. . . or A LOT OF METAL CUTTING.

Well I dont have my AC condensor anymore, and Ive got a thinner rad

With a set of custom rad mounts, Id have quite a lot of room between the rad and the bumper

I tried to keep the bumper beam. I cut it down to the point of where it was just dead weight. I couldnt move the pipes any lower, cause you run into the frame rails, have to go around them, and then have the usuall setup anyway. Running them this way probablly bypassed a good 3 or 4 feet of pipe, and many bends.

I was looking at tilting the radiator back too and going that route on my own car, (I pulled out my working AC the day I got it) but this turned out to just be way more simple and straight foreward. I put flexible joints at the core support to allow for movement, thus making 7 flexible joints in the system. I think next time I'll do solid pipes all the way, thus making less joints to pop under heavy boost, prolly on my own car.

I dont have any more pics of the car. It was put on a flat bed today before I could snap some shots of it with the bumper cover on. The turbo is the same GPMoto twin scroll setup thats floatin around the 400hp+ crowd. Or search for my twin scroll header pics here.

The point of the thread is to show a different way of pipe routing. It can be much shorter, and straighter, and since I fucking hate NASIOC, I thought Id share here. Danke.

Only twin turbo manifolds and 97+ single turbo manifolds have enough space for this.

It's definately shorter than normal, but you can make it even shorter and straighter! Go for broke.

I wish I could have run piping like that, but my core was far too wide and nearly as tall.

What turbo is that? GT30R?
