Transfer case - Dual Range 4WD

Post by alpineraven »

Out of interest, is it possible for me to pull out/take off an transfer case from Legacy 4WD gearbox that has Lo Range (Hi/Fulltime 4WD) on it from a buggered (blown teeths in G/B 3rd gear?) dual range gearbox and fit it on end of Single Range AWD gearbox transmission that is on my 1995 Liberty?

I'm not sure about the EJ dual range gearbox (we dont get them here in the the US :x ), but in the older EA gearboxes the dual range in not a separate "transfer" case, its inside the gear box built into the input shaft.

The answer is no, Dual Range EJ Series Gearboxes are simular to EA series. Found out recently after reseaching, and located Dual Range EJ gearbox. Hi & Lo lever is same place on EA series.
