so i purchased the above configuration (exedy lightweight flywheel, and 200 dollar exedy clutch)... and the pressure plates holes do not match the flywheels holes....

and to tell you the truth, i dont know what to do...

the pressure plate fits the stock flywheel....
(the NA flywheel)

i'm going to contact the clutch people... and see what they can do...

grrr... anyone have any ideas?

Well I just did my 5MT swap, used the stock flywheel and an Exedy Stage 1 kit (pressure plate + clutch plate)

Exedy has the same part number for the WRX as for the Legacy, so this indicates a few different things:

1. The pressure plate is the WRX style, thus the exedy clutch will not bolt onto the legacy pressure plate
2. The exedy clutch is smaller than the WRX clutch, otherwise it wouldnt work with the legacy flywheel (they mated up perfectly)

So, in short, you need the exedy pressure plate.

Actually, I just noticed you're using swap parts from the NA tranny?

The NA tranny uses the opposite style clutch. The pressure plates are not compatible.

The Exedy FF01 flywheel is what I have. It was sold as a WRX LW flywheel. I would not assume it to work with the n/a clutch setup.

You need a different setup for the n/a push style clutch/pp.

I'd find out what the 2.5 RS uses, and get that.

That's exactly what I'm doing with my N/A FWD (actually its in the evolution process from FWD to AWD). I'm getting the RS clutch and light weight flywheel from ACT.

Alrighty!!!! After talking to Exedy directly, I need a FF02 Lightweight flywheel and the 15-801 Clutch Kit.

if i had a WRX or a turbo Tranny, i'd get the FF01 flywheel and the 15-802 Clutch Kit

Ordered today, should be here friday, I'll keep everyone posted.

...now i'll be crossing my fingers if my SS2 NEX Coilovers (from a 2000 2.5 RS) fit.... *hopes!*

.....and that strut tower brace i ordered...

...............and if those seat belt pads dont fit.. AHHHH!!! ;)
