Radiator fans won't turn on.

Post by dzx »

I had problems with the engine overheating and leaking oil so I pulled the engine. After putting it back in, I realized that the radiator fans don't turn on. I replaced the coolant sensor and it didn't help. Any other ideas?

I'll probably go to the junkyard and get some relays.

Yeah, I was going to suggest a bad relay. Call me if you want to come by my place and scrounge for relays...

turned out it was being caused by a couple of reasons.

1.) there was only water in the radiator, so it tended to boil out before the fans kicked in.

2) the exhaust melted the solder that i put on one of the fan harnesses when i replaced it, causing it to have a bad connection.
