Removing engine temp sensor

Post by Kcwiro »

Car info:

1991 subaru legacy sedan EJ22

Hey guys I have been stumbling around trying to find a thread about how you remove/replace the engine temp sensor on this legacy. I located the sensor but it is in such a tight spot nothing I have will fit in to pop it out so I can replace it. Not to mention it has the computer plug on one side of it preventing me from ust using a regular socket on it.

Can anyone post a pic of the tool I need and brief directions on how I get this guy out so I can replace it? (checked the library and didn't see any write up on it...fooie!)

Unplug the plug and use a standard socket on it. It may be a tight squeeze so you may need to use a regular wrench.

I'll have to see if I have a standard wrench that is that small enough to sqweeze in there. 19mm is large regardless

Take the PCV tree off the block. I don't know how you could do this without doing that first.
