NTB: ej22t head passenger side & head removing tips

Post by 95LegacyLsi »

I broke off 2 bolts in my head yesterday, got one out but drilled into the head on the second try. If anyone has a head I could buy from them I am willing to do just about anything. I f*cked up real bad here.....

second question

I know the head bolts are 14 mm but should i just keep using brut force to get them out or is there something i am missing here?? :x I am so tired of doing things wrong,I just want my car to run again.....

The head bolts just go through the head, and don't actually thread into the head. So even if it breaks off, you should be able to pull the head off.

They're a bitch to get off, just get a big breaker bar.

I should actually correct myself, I didnt break a head bolt as I actually broke the bolts that hold down the rocker arms. the two middle ones where 4 actually connect the rockers to the head. This is what is bolted into the head and i may have drilled slap into the cam. long story short on start up i heard a nasty clack clack sound  and decided that the improper removal of the bolt was to blame.

Here now it will be nessisary to flush the whole system oil and coolant lines correct?

If you got metal shavings in the oil, yeah I'd certain flush things, and nothing made it into the bearings.

You don't really need to flush the coolant, as I don't see how that would be directly affected.

to be honest im just worried about turbo damage...
