Ralliktek and I got our ej22t rebuilds started today....
By buying the rod and main bearings and head gaskets. He also picked up rings, I already have em.
Nice thing is that Kelley has a nice connection with the discount import parts store that I frequent.
$ 56 for turbo rings
$45 main bearings
$30 rod bearings
and
$70 for head gasket set. And this isnt any old head gasket. I havent seen this style yet (not that I have seen a HUGE amount) but they are 100% metal. There is a metal core, and instead of a composite material on the outside, they are a thin sheet metal with imprinted ridges around the important areas that are crush fit when installed.
So next step is for Kelley to pull his motor, and then we do a dual bearing rebuild and the he and I go in different directions for the head work.

Is this metal headgasket thickness the same as the OEM composite one?
