I'm in the process of installing my new exhaust and WRX TMIC right now, and while I'm at it, I'm throwing around the idea of installing a turbo blanket. It's very popular with the Supra guys, but after a search, I haven't found too much about it here...just some general opinions.
The blanket is supposed to decrease turbo lag and increase overall turbo efficiency...which, based on stuff I learned in my turbomachine design class back in college, I don't doubt it true. However, I wouldn't expect any huge gains. My main reason for looking into installing the wrap would be to keep heat away from the TMIC sitting directly above it (I don't think I'll be able to install the chimney with the TMIC and downpipe).
Here's what I'm looking at:

Anyone running one of these? It comes with wrap for the turbo AND downpipe, though I'm not sure if I'd install the downpipe wrap (see concern #2 below).
A few of my basic concerns....
1) Premature failure of the turbo from the added heat. Though I do have a turbo-timer, and I suppose this would help a bit.
2) Corrosion issues:

However, my downpipe IS stainless, so this may be a moot issue.
Thoughts?

i got the same kit, but i never put it in. why becuse subaru makes a nice one factory, its a stock shield that covers the turbo. also in the summer time i use the legacytrubo stacker one.

What's the price on it, and where can I get it? Do you have a part number or anything? How does it bolt in?
the pipe never gets hot at all with the covers on, you can see the stock turbo cover and the aps down pipe cover that comes with the exhuste kit. + the hood blows cold air all over that pipe so it never gets hot at all.
