Short Throw

Post by Gregmckenna »

Hey guys... there is a ton of information out there on this an Im aware of that Ive read alot. from my understanding I need all of the linkage... a.k.a. 3 bushings, 2 like arm things, a lever, a cup to hold the lever, and an adapter from the wrx to mate the Wrx linkage to the Legacy tranny. the reason I am doing this is because id like a shorter throw thats not so sloppy/shove it into gear/ grinding 2nd 24/7 when shifting fast... please correct me if im wrong on what I need

Upon doing this I also plan on buying all new kartboy bushings and a short throw level for the WRX... should with cure my problems... thanks guys...

I guess my friend has one from a 5MT WRX.... ( is this what I need)

A short shifter is only going to make the grinding 2nd worse.

Yes, the 5MT shift assembly from the WRX will work.

The only thing you can do to try and fix the grinding is to replace the tranny fluid.
