intercooler clamps
hay yall im thinking on doing my front mount pretty soon and was wondering what kind of clamps i should use.
the phillps worm screw type. you think they will hold boost without coming un done? or the more expesnsive t-bolt type?
im just thinking ahead.

How much boost are you running?
Some people don't have a problem with standard worm-type. Some do. I'd use worm-type clamps.
Are your intercooler pipes bead rolled?

spend some money and get the t bolts. if you look hard enough online and ebay you can find good deals on them. if you dont got the dough, you better have something for the worm gear clamps to butt up against.
You can always drill 3 or 4 holes at the end of each pipe and then put in tiny screws. its a good cheep alternative to having the pipes rolled or beads welded on.

T-Bolts for sure. Check out atpturbo.com. They accept paypal which is cool.
If you are clamping around high heat, such as the compressor outlet I'd recommend a spring loaded t-bolt clamp like the ones here http://turbohoses.com/Clamp.htm.

well just last night I blew my system apart in the passenger fender @ 16 psi. I think I'm going to go get some t-bolt clamps. The worm screw type is easy to strip getting them tight.

Using decent T-bolts with non-beadrolled edges, I didn't blow a coupler untill a boost overrun to 24psi. I'm gonna bead roll the pipes, but I gotta get roun-tuit.
If your pipes don't fit together the best, or are trying to bend the coupler in a funny way, you're more apt to popping them. You want as little stress on them when you clamp them down. I have one that is pretty jacked, but hasn't gone anywhere do to the rolled edges.
