nasty squeel from brakes

Post by boricuadotnet »

just recently a nasty squeel/screech started commin from the rear brakes so i decided to replace the pads and rotors because they looked pretty bad well after all of that work i ended up with a mushy brake pedal (i think i know why this might be, i didnt bleed the system correctly) and the same squeel/screech i started with. the noise goes away once the brakes warm up (about 1/2-1 mile it did the same before the brake job) what could this be?

What kinda pads did you get?

Alot of times, the cheap parts store brand will just be a very noisy pad. We often have cars come back to the shop when the manager cheaps out on pads.

clean and re-grease all the clips, shims, and slide pins.

I used a mityvac ($35 at sears) to flush and bleed my brakes last weekend. The hardest part is the workout your forearms get.
