Prefered MAF cleaner?

I hear there is a real spray for cleaning mafs but never seen it. Ive heard brake cleaner ,carb cleaner, and contact cleaner. What does everyone prefer?

They make a cleaner specifically for the MAF sensor.

Some carb cleaners will leave a residue on the MAF element, so I would avoid those. Brake cleaner has a tendency to work well.

think throttle body cleaner has the same effect?

I dunno. Haven't tried it. If you have some, just spray it on a non-permeable surface and watch it dry. If there's stuff left on there afterwards, then I wouldn't use it.

Some carb cleaners don't leave a residue, but it's kinda hit-n-miss.

There is a spray cleaner for electrical components.... smells like carb cleaner, but it isnt. drys completly clean, and it worked on not one, but TWO MAF s!!!!!!

i highly reccommend it

its literally called Electrical component cleaner or something

Yeah....most throttle body cleaners leave a residue.

Yeah, if I clean a MAF sensor... which I honestly don't find necessary and really don't recommend... I use brake cleaner, because it evaporates completely.

In my experience the only reason the MAF would get dirty would be
1. Too much oil on a K&N/Amsoil filter
2. Failure to use a proper filter.

If neither of these is the case, it's likely not going to help to "clean" the MAF...

now that there is probably residue on it, can i use brake cleaner now to clean it off?
