i am going to put my V2 TMIC onto my car soon.
i also need to get a boost gauge and would like to install a MBC.
if i set the boost to 11 will i hit the fuel cut very often?
in other words is a FCD needed at 11PSI?
avoiding fuel cut w/out using a FCD?

Factory fuel cut hits at around 11.7psi (26.4abs) at roughly sea-level.
In other words, don't be surprised if you hit fuel cut every once in a while.

i rarely go close to redline.
the elevation in fargo, nd is 899 ft. so we are pretty close to sea level.

It would cut within 3 seconds of meeting or exceeding ~11psi.
If you hit 11psi at 2000 RPM, it'll cut within 3 seconds.

You'll hit it a lot more frequently then you'd expect. I did....had to back the boost off. I especially hit it more frequently in the higher gears where boost started to creep a little from where I had it set.

looks like i will save up for a FCD and do some reading in the stickies about how to build my own. even if i dont plan on going above 11-12 PSI it sounds like a good idea.
11-12 is about the peak efficiency for the stock fuel system and turbo, right?
am i correct to assume that hitting fuel cut will not hurt the car too much, if at all?
sorry for the newbish turbo stuff. i have been here for a long time but i have only had the spinny thing in the exhaust stream for a little while now.
