Yes, Metra Electronics has a kit for the '05-'07 Legacy & Outback (99-8901).

Here is an online link to it:
http://www.amazon.com/Metra-TurboKits-9 ... B000LU9QD6

You also as of '05, Subarus require an antenna adaptor: 40-SB10
Here is the OEM-to-aftermarket wiring harness you'd need: 70-8901

Well, all radios (aftermarket or OEM) are built to the German based D.I.N. sizing (width & height). Although that is on the basis that they didn't have a radio created with a front face to fit their dash's design (example - Ford Taurus, Ford Escort ZX2, Mazda MP5, <--seeing a Ford trend here?).

I was just wondering is the whole radio and climate in one unit behind the dash or no? I would think not.. How hard would it be for someone just to make a molding and cut the two pieces so it's not just one large piece?

Depends really. Ford only did it with the ZX2 as all one unit, and the Taurus sorta was all one. The front was just a controller and the brain was in the trunk. So you would think it'd be designed as two pieces, but not always... I haven't gotten the opertunity to tear into an '05 + Legacy dash yet. My buddy Matt has one a few houses from me. I may have to look into this...

I would be disappointed as I brought a whole Alpine unit with an XM radio to hook to it.. and used it in the impreza and forester and now maybe not being able to use it now :-/
