its a greddy 60mm, and i think i'll install it on the A pillar (i think leaving it taped to the dash is really ghetto ).
i read about the CRX and GC pillar pods, but i still haven't been able to find the pillar pod i need. i already searched a bit, but couldn't find anything. does anyone know of a site that has a 60mm single pod that will fit well?
How about some other install pictures for ideas? i was thinking it would go well in that vent on the left side of the steering wheel. i normally don't like A-pillar pods, and i have a custom pod on my alltrac, so maybe a couple of ideas might give me a clean looking creative way to install it.
yeah, i saw your set up when i was searching. its very creative, but i can't think of a way to apply your idea without coping it straight out, which i would feel like im devaluing your work.
how about some info on a 60mm single a-pilar pod. keep the ideas coming, but i really need a pod quickly.

Center of the tach is a very good location, easy to see, blocks nothing. I have seen other mount a boost gauge off the column so it sits in the same line of sight. Put it in a clean little pod or mount and it should look ok (and a LOT less work ).

Devan told me that a 90-91 Honda Civic DX pod works...and he has one in his car and it even lets the seatbelts work...without modification!

I mounted my gauge in the right center vent. This allows me to keep the left one which holds the up/down adjustment for the airflow. It is off the side a tad but still easy to see. I also put it in the right side as opposed to the left because as I turn the wheel, my hand would cover it up if it's in the left vent.

i bought a 89-90 crx single gauge a-pillar pod from glowshift on ebay, it holds a 2 1/16 (52mm) gauges which was a perfect fit for my autometer 2 - 1/16 boost gauge. for $6.99 its not bad at all.
The crx pod maybe seem a bit wide at first but a heat gun + 10 minutes of blowing will make it fit like a glove. i'll post pictures sometimes later
It is definately not as easy to see as a pillar gauge or the ones mounted in the gauge cluster. But it is pretty nice and provides a good clear view with a quick glance. You can also just make a false facing to stick on with some magnets if you really wanted to keep it sleeper. You will have to trim the vent ducting a little but running wires to the ashtray is super easy .
I have mine mounted in the center of my tach. It doesn't block anything there, and I can check it at a glance along with my other gauges. But then, I'm not a big fan of pillar gauges.
skid- I like your setup. Have you considered a gauge angle mounting ring? What did you use to fill the hole?

Beatersubi - Thank you, I'm pretty happy with it. I have thought about angling it but it's still very readable and I just didn't feel like messing with it. The back is just a piece of balsa wood that I cut to shape to use the screw hold downs of the vent. I then rienforced the back with some carbon fiber. Little spray paint later and viola! The big thing is I want to keep my car very stock looking from the outside and I can make a fake front very easily.
Denver - That is a slick setup and looks nice. I do doubt that there is room in dash to make that work smoothly. But that one application does look nice.
