I gotta start asap on the transplant because I cant drive that POS 96 Mitsubishi Galant any longer... Its about to die and I cant be responsible for teh death of another car.... Even a DSM...

I tried to wait longer before taking less meds and I thought I was gonna die for about 1/2 hr before the next dose kicked in...

If the Galant you are stuck in was a 91-92 VR4 you may not be in such a rush to swap motors into the other Legacy.

Since its not a VR4 hurry up & get the Leg running!

Honestly, if it was a vr4 I would just sell the engine and tranny to someone and not worry about another car... but its not, its a POFS

good luck with the swap, but enjoy the lazy life with the meds too

I'm off the meds... Dale convinced me... Actually I cant drive while I'm on them so they had to go...

And we arent doin the rio red... its not in all that great of shape and the other one already has a jdm rexy 4.11 tranny w/ rear vlsd...

Right now I'm drivin a 92 Legacy L FWD...

Ya know, I dont think that I completely understood the consequences of this until this week...

I was drivin on the freeway at 60mph in a 70...

So I gave it the gas, gently, just enough to spool the turbo and hop up to speed and well, it, uh, didnt come, and it didnt come... I look at the speedo and I was at like 63...

It kinda hit me... I destroyed a very, very, very nice 1993 Pure White Subaru Legacy Sport Sedan...

I dont mean to sound whiny in any way... but darn, I mean...

Yea there was a car in my lane, but I mean, had I at least been goin 5mph above the suggested speed limit instead of 15... I believe it was 30 and I was doin 45...

I would still be drivin my car, instead, I thought I knew better, and even though I was going slower than usual i still over estimated my driving abilities and underestimated my conditions.

Well, I hope that at least someone can learn from this... Sad thing is... I didnt learn from my uncles mistakes... like 4 rollovers and like 11 accidents and hes only 32.

Point is... I cant keep blamin the other car, I was the one who was overdrivin and not paying enough attention. I should have been prepared for things that could have been in my way... A car, a deer, ice, or anythin else.

I am amazed at how well I came out of the accident, and I think I have learned a lot from this. And I hope someone else can to.

And thanks for the kind words everyone!

Oh and I'm not complainin about the FWD L... At least its a Subie... but is sure is different... talk about torque steer!

Thanks guys!

I almost liken street driving to the Serengeti - you never know what's hiding in the grass. Driving's probably worse since there are a finite amount of lions, but idiots are the one resource we'll never run out of and the government and market encourages them to breed and to drive. Now that you've learned the hard way about the Idiot Factor you'll probably not look at blind curves the same again. For me it was a couple of minor fender benders and a near miss with a stupid kid (good thing I had the fog lights on instead of just the shitty stock headlights).

if it makes you feel any better i totaled my ford taurus wagon when i was 16, and the car in front of mine and the car in front of that :-D
i was on my was to get my car audio installed.

i think jesus realized that i didn't belong in a ford taurus, and the wagon shouldn't have a sweet system. ever.

and he knew that every ford taurus in the history of the universe needed to be destroyed......one...by...one. :D
