looking at replacing the friction disk in my 2.2l turbo with pull type clutch. Is the friction disc on those the same as the push type?? what about a newer WRX friction disk? Nobody sells just the friction disk and for a kit when you add the word turbo, the price doubles so if the friction disk was the same i could buy a cheaper kit....they look the same to me....

Not sure if the disc is the same, I would guess it is not.
You cannot use a WRX one unless you also switch the pressure plate to a WRX one. It's 3mm(?) bigger.

I think the dealers will sell clutch components individually. It wouldn't hurt to make a couple of phone calls.
There are three kinds of people in the world, those who can count and those who can't.

This is where I bought my clutch kit. I'll stand by them religiously lol. It was a great deal and an awesome product!!
Any clutch and clutch kit for a WRX (not STi) and I believe the 2.5RS (not sure if it's hydraulic like ours) will work.

It is hydraulic, yes.
Turbo 5 speeds have a pressure plate that gets pulled away from the engine to disengage.
Non-turbo 5 speeds have a traditional pressure plate that gets pushed towards the engine to disengage.
The flywheels, pressure plates, throw out bearings, transmission castings, and most likely the clutch discs are all different between the two.
