You're blocking off the IAC? I know you can block of EGR, but I wasn't aware you can eliminate the IAC... :?s

As I understand ANY Subaru EJ head will bolt up to ANY Subaru EJ block - but I'd think you'd have to use the H/G to match the block as the bores change with the displacement (I think WRX = 92mm pistons, while a 2.2 = 97mm pistons).
If you use the US WRX heads you'll need to do something for E/M as the trigger points on the cam gears are supposed to be different which will not allow it to start-up on the ej22t ecu.
To have a DOHC start on a ej22t ECU the heads have to be older versions like DOHC 2.5, EJ20G, EJ20H, EJ20K, EJ20R heads.

Yes, you need a headgasket with the proper bore size. Also, paying attention to the thinkness is important on the 22T, sicne the pistons protrude past the deck by about .020".
You cannot just slap on WRX heads and go, as the triggeres are different between phase I and phase II motors.
Lastly, do some looking around the boards. Not just here, but places like nasioc are good resources. Anything you can think of has been covered many times over.
