So im now balls deep in the TD04 swap and i need to close this gap with an intercooler, fuck its tight

Yeah you either need to intercool that thing or find a bunch of 90* silicon couplers and fab something up.
Don't try using a straight piece of something and just bending it. It'll kink and you'll lose an assload of power.

dont use radiator hose.
go to www.siliconintakes.com and get what you need there.
i dont think you will need anything though... b/c you have the td04 remember?
your Y pipe should just plug onto the turbo intake outlet
i spent $65 on radiator hose(s) and none of them ended up working.

ha ha don't post pictures of that though
it honestly should just go right in,
the only thing you'll need to do is move the ignition wires
and after that make a channel for the air to flow onto the intercooler.
i just did this on friday with some mean camper foam and some fiberboard.
