You may be surprised as the EJ20G shortblock is meant to be used with the big cc DOHC heads.
Once the small cc sohc heads are on there the compression will be higher than the 8.5:1 EJ20Gs usually have - ? 9ish:1 CR.
It should be a surprising little motor.

weird setup. i went to the mechine shop and for 20 thousants over bore and hot tanked. plus hot tanking the heads is about $142 total. cool..
